    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was looking at some spotted pythons being advertized by B&B reptiles and exotics on KS.

He is offering a second day shipping price of $10

My thoughts on seeing that were that if you can't ship over night then you shouldn't be shipping them at all.

I just think offering a second day shipping on small babies like these is WRONG! Just to save a few bucks!

Am I wrong?

Am I over re-acting?

I just couldn't ship them second day myself. Here's the link!

I don't know if I should of posted this on the BOI or not.

Not too good of an idea if you ask me

Second day shipping doesn't sound too good to me. I think it's just asking for trouble. I'll bet on the second day shipping there won't be a live arrival guarantee. What's next, putting the snakes in one of those bubble envelopes and sticking it in the mail box? Some people are just better off leaving this business to the professionals, or at least to the ones that have some common sense.

I've had 2 or 3 packages delayed by a day by various carriers over the last couple of years and the animals pulled through fine. So 2nd day shipping could conceivably be fine for most reptiles that are healthy to start with. But the issue comes in what if there is a delay on the 2nd day package, your looking at 3 or 4 day trip. What if it runs over the weekend, now 5 or 6 days?

From a business standpoint it seems silly to risk $100+ (your live arrival guarantee as most animals sold online are usually $100+ as cheaper ones don't warrant the shipping costs) to save $25 on shipping which is usually picked up by the buyer anyway. We carry a 7 day guarantee on our animals and for this to be a low risk venture I need to get the animals to the new owners (who could be newbies with a complete list of newbie mistakes to make on the husbandry end) in prime condition, not dehydrated by 2 or 3 days in a box. We target new / newer reptile owners (don't sell too many piebald pythons :D) so I want there to be room for error as they get the heat and feeding right.
