In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What is the best way for me to get a Blue Eyed Lucy?
I know I want Blue Eyed Lucys but I don't know the best way to go about it.

I want the whiter ones with a very clean white body and head. I think they're referred to as diamond but I'm not sure. I'm not picky though so if I could get a bunch that aren't bright white easier then

I see most sell around $1200 which is way out of my budget which is more towards the $500 range.

Are Blue Eyed Lucys easy or difficult to produce?
I've read all you need is a Lesser & a Mojave?
What are the odds of getting a Blue Eyed Lucy?
What are ways to increase your chances of getting a Blue Eyed Lucy?

If you have a Blue Eyed Lucy male & a Blue Eyed Lucy female will all the offspring be Blue Eyed Lucys or does it just increase the odds of more of their offspring being Blue Eyed Lucys?

I'm very new to this so if you can give me the "for dummies" version I'd appreciate it.

Thanks very much in advance to all you helpful members. :)

Depends on you're budget, there are plenty of ways. Any combo of Lesser, Butter, Russo het Lucy, or Mojave. Also Lesser/Butter to a Mystic/Phantom, I can't remember if mocha do also... so yea, there's a few ways.

You're thinking of white diamonds which are super russo het lucys. Not all are pure white, some have a yellow dorsal stripe, kinda like a ivory with blue eyes. The most consistently whitest I have seen are Lesser/Butter x Lesser/Butter. They do have a chance of having what they call bug eyes however. Super mojave are the dirtiest of the BEL, grey heads and tend to yellow as they grow.

You're not going to get any lucy at that price range. You can buy the parts to make your own though. Get a mojave female and a lesser/butter male (should fit in your budget) and you have a 1/4 shot of making some.

No more difficult than any other "super" morph.

It's one way to do it and probably the best option for what you want, in your price range

What are the odds of getting a Blue Eyed Lucy?
In a Lesser x Mojave, each egg has a 25% chance

Female:

Breed a BEL making snake to a BEL

that will make all BEL

there are many ways to get a bell
mocha X mojave
mocha X lesser
mocha X mocha
mocha X phantom
mocha X mystic
het russo X mojave
het russo X lesser
het russo X phantom
het russo X mystic
het russo X mocha
het russo X het russo
and so on with mystics, phantoms, mojave, lesser, butter.
its always 25% chance to hit the bell

mocha x mocha can give you a Blue Eyed Lucy? So you can have a pairing without a lesser in it & still get a Blue Eyed Lucy?
I thought lessers were key to getting a Blue Eyed Lucy?
Do lessers at least increase the odds or are the odds still 1/4 with the non lesser pairings like you mentioned above?

Lesser is one of the morphs that can do it....but not NEEDED....all you need is two parents that are ANY of the above listed morphs

so a mojo to butter

a lesser to butter

a mojo to lesser

lesser to lesser

butter to butter

and so on and so on with all the other morphs people have already named

Lessers are no different then any of BEL making morph...they do not increase the odds at all....and they are not required more so then any other BEL making morph

How common is that bug eye thing & is it a problem with their vision or just a bug eyed appearance?

PS Thanks for that cool chart & answering all my questions!

the bug eye thing can be fairly common, and it can not be.

Its more common in butter to butter or lesser to lesser situations

most people who cross lines (so mojo to lesser OR lesser to het russo, ect ect)
say that it decreases the issues a lot if not all together

I am unaware if it affects their vision....but it looks crazy in general lol

i wouldn't say common, but it happens, it just looks goofy, I've never herd anyone with experience with them say it affected them in anyway. Honestly, I've never seen a bug eye in real life and i've seen quite a few lesser/lesser BEL. Google has some pictures of bugged ones tho.

Bug eye issue doesn't bother me personally, I've been shooting for lesser/lesser BEL for the past 2 years, lesser female doesn't want to give me any eggs, she breeds like crazy though.

I've never herd of mojo/lesser BEL having bug eye issues, but I have seen a few yellow out as the age. There are some that stay bright white though. Again, for your price range, I think that's your best bet for a white snake.

Besides het russo, the rest of the morphs cost quite a bit more and imo russo aren't the greatest BEL makers compared to the others. seen too many super russos that i thought were blue eye'd ivories and imo alone their not quite as cool looking as say a mojo or lesser.

lol okay I'll cross lines to be safe. I don't want any bug eyed. :p

Is there anything I should be looking for in the snakes I plan to pair to get BEL's?
Does it make a difference if it is more washed out or if it is bright?

Is it really all 1/4 chance?

Why aren't there that many available out there if 1/4 of all those pairings put out BEL's?

it is not 1/4 chances you WILL get one

each egg will have a 25% chance at being a BEL in a single gene to single gene breeding

(breeding BEL to BEL will make all BELs)

You can get 8 eggs and have not a single BEL

you can make three eggs and get 3 BELs.....its all chance and odds

and high quality animals are always better, just in general lol. But brightness vs. washed outness is just preferences...I don't think it matters in the BEL babies
