    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Questions.

Since before my uncle passed away I have wanted to do venemous. I ended up in Kansas Oklahoma. I am just wondering if anyone can tell me the process. I messed with the uncles heloderma and a copperhead at one point in Colorado. That has been years ago. He also had a few monacled cobras and albino diamondbacks. I have tried for over a year to find mentor in Northeast Oklahoma to no avail. I was trying to ask a person some questions and was told they would reach out . Never to hear from them. I have no desire to free handle. I have no desire to go beyond a copperhead,pygmy, and some eyelash vipers if I can get my permits. I know I will have to escape proof a room and get a locking vision enclosure which is on the way. From my understanding I do that, escape proof the room, get the enclosure set up, fill out the paperwork and schedule an appointment with the game warden to inspect? Then if he approves send in money orders ?This has been a life long dream for me. I also know my experience with ball pythons, kings snakes,and a pine snake years ago and so forth aren't really enough to get started. Could someone reccomend any practice snakes for someone who wanted to get into pygmy's and eyelash vipers? Thank you in advance. Please no hate. It's a lifelong dream and I'm tempted to just go for it with a local copperhead to start with

If you're a responsible adult, who's going to be careful and understands and accepts the risks involved and you want to start with a copperhead then just do it. I would be happy to explain the basics, if you follow those you should be fine. Keep in mind I'm only saying this if you want something like a copperhead or a pygmy. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thank you for your advice. I believe I will go for it.

Your best bet for your area would be to contact your local herp society chapter, herpetological dept at your local zoo or in some cases your DNR office....they might have the best answers for your area..Best of luck 🙌 and don't stop looking for a mentor. You are on the right path🤘
Thank you
