    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello, I have just obtained a 3 1/2 foot ball, and I have a chance to get another but don't have the room for 2 tanks, they are both female, but the original owner says that you can not house 2 females together? the other is a few months old maybe a foot maybe a foot and a half. Can anyone help me?

Actually, you shouldn't house 2 or more ball pythons together period (unless it's a male and female and you're breeding them); they aren't social animals, and doing so will only stress one or both out, eventually causing health problems.

Just because they do it, doesn't mean it's the way it should be done. (It's mainly for their bottom line - one tank of babies is way cheaper for them to keep than a couple dozen individual tanks.) See them cuddling in that cute little pile? They're actually vying for the dominant spot and it's nowhere near as cute in actuality as it looks. Those piles of unfed bush babies shouldn't be considered the basis for competent herp care.

Ball pythons are by nature solitary animals. Can they be housed together? Sure. But if you want to create an optimal environment for them to grow and thrive, it's a definite NO.

I have another question, how often should a 4-5month old bp shed? I have a female that just shed about 2-3 weeks ago, and I got her out of her cage today and her eyes are caped again. Is this common or uncommon?

not to uncommon,i have sevearal snakes that eat and shed back to back some times.it just means they are growing and thriving!

Shedding depends on growing which depends on feeding and age. Don't be concerned over how often, just that sheds are complete.

As long as you don't see black specks in the water bowl or crawling on the snake (mites), I wouldn't worry about the shedding frequency at that age. Show pics of your set up, perhaps someone can give assistance to make sure it's not an "issue."

Looks fine to me. The only thing I'd recommend is putting a humid hide in there, at least when the snake is shedding. I housed a female BP in a similar setup for a few years, and the only problems I had were bad sheds (until I put in a humid hide).
