rack question..

Question for people who've built racks systems or have some knowledge of them. I've got everything minus the wood. I've scoured my local area looking for sheets of melamine 4x8 boards but can't find any.. do you think this would work or would it require any extra sealing? and if so, how should it be sealed?.. http://www.homedepot.com/Lumber-Com...splay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&storeId=10051
