    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Rack quetion

Boaphile v Animal Plastics

I checked out boaphile and they also have some excellent racks. I seem to recall an old discussion on KS about raks. Someone said that their boaphile racks didn't get warm enough. Can anyone refute / substantiate this? The room were I keep my gecks goes through some pretty big seasonal temperature fluctuations.

Right now I think a model like Animal Plastics S10 is at the top of my list.

Our boaphile racks are at 90 degrees at the back and 75 at the front. Seems to work really well to me.

heat tape

Hi. I know we're talking about racks here, but Red mentioned heat tape, so here I go.

I just got heat tape and equipment in on Friday from the bean farm. put it together today. It looks and sounds much harder then it is.-- and is much cheaper then using UTH for rack systems. I am by no means an electritian and basically had no clue is to what I was doing. All of it was fairly simple-- dumb dumb over here paid 9 bucks at TBF for a wall dimmer (which sold for 3 at home depot) and I needed a lamp dimmer, but I got an electrical case and safety plugs for a buck and all worked out. Dont worry red, heat tape is quite intimidating, but pretty easy!

As for racks, I wish I had spare money to invest in AP or Boaphile-- in due time though. :)

Sorry for hijacking a little-- this is turning into a good thread. (answering questions wise.)

You brought an excellent point. The boaphile racks come with the heat tape installed. All you have to do it plug it in to the thermostat and your ready to go. Our racks were at proper temperature in 15 minutes using a Ranco thermostat.

Terry
