    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello all,

I'm a tortoise keeper of 16 year, with experience keeping Leopard tortoises, Redfoot tortoises, and Indian Stars. I am looking to expand my collection to add 1 or possibly 2 Radiated tortoises this year. I do not have a CBW permit, so I would have to obtain these tortoises within the state of South Carolina, and obviously avoid crossing any state lines. I am writing this post to see if anyone has any knowledge of keepers/breeders of astrochelys radiata in SC. If so, I would greatly appreciate any information about them to inquire about a purchase in the near future. I have been searching on and off for about 2 years now, and have been unsuccessful. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

If you join the Turtle and Tortoise Preservation Group (TTPG) on Facebook and become a member there is a chance you could get given with one eventually. They can be donated or gifted across state lines without a CBW, just no commercial activity across state lines. The group will occasionally have breeders who donated their animals to other turtle & tortoise lovers free of charge with conservation in mind.

Andy,

Thanks for getting back to me. That is awesome news. I'll make sure to join that group. Much appreciated!
