    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Not saying you need to pm everyone the BOI already has a few threads about him that potential buy could probably find on their own. You will see potentila buyers post. If you feel you need to inform them click on their user name, then click private message, then do your thing.
 
I am not trying to defend the guy I am just saying there are better ways of informing people that have already been done here in the BOI. There is no need to post in all his classifieds.
 
Ryan, the problem with your logic is you have no idea who is inquiring about the animals for sale. You would have no idea who to PM, unless that person responds to their ad.

Not EVERYONE knows about the BOI... I'm sure MOST people would appreciate a link... I know I would... (but then again, I am not a scammer)... I'm sure if I were, I'd hate the thought of someone linking the BOI to my classifieds...
 
Not everyone responds to the ad. some people just directly PM the seller.

So then what Ryan? What "better ways" do you suggest?

And when you are just browsing the classifieds, then what? Maybe that buyer only just stumbled on to fauna, and dosnt want to waste the time to explore the site much? What then? Too bad for them? I dont freakin think so.......

Dont like it, dont participate here, it is your own choice. You do not have to respond to said posts if you see something wrong with them, and you can PM whomever you feel needs to be alerted, but that is not how things are done here by many of the members of this board. There is nothing at all wrong with alerting others to a potential risk. As said before.

That does not mean that EVERY person that looks at the classifieds knows it's there... I'm sure there are people out there that overlook it, or are only interested in looking at the classifieds, so they don't take the time to explore the rest of the site. It's not THAT impossible to believe... for a rational person anyway...
 
Ryan -- perhaps you are new to the herp community so you may not be familiar with the ways of the scammers and low lifes of this industry or how this industry polices itself. If so then fine -- you can look at it like this -- if you are walking down the street and see someone kick a dog, steal a purse, break into a car -- are you the type to sit there and do nothing? This community doesn't sit back quietly and watch people extort thousands of dollars from it's members - we will make it as hard and as uncomfortable as possible and we don't apologize for it.
 
Leaving would just be the easy way out. There’s one other thing to ponder and it’s that he is a paid advertiser of Fauna; if he leaves there would be no more reason for him to support this site. It would be nice to have a third option, something along the lines of “stay and learn”.

"Stay and Learn" would be nice, but he has demonstrated again and again that he has NO interest in learning... He says himself that it's all about the money...
