    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

So I recently acquired an adult male LTR that wont touch a f/t rat, but the moment he gets a f/t mouse he is all over it. It's like me eating a chicken nugget for dinner! I tried to rub some mice all over the rat but he didnt fall for it. I realize I can feed him more than one mouse but what a drag when my female will pound a single small to medium sized rat for her weekly meal. Anyone ever had this happen? Any way to fix or is my guy forever gonna be a skinny mouse eater?


Anybody looking for a picky male LTR for cheap? He also has slight bug eyes which the seller also left out of his details when I bought him. I only blame myself for not asking though. But I cant use him for breeding the way I had hoped. He is a complete sweetheart though. Tame as can be.
 
I have pair het LTR. The female is a eating demon. Would eat 2 rats if I let her.
The male is the fussy one. He will only eat medium mice. Have not been able to change him from this so have just given up. She gets the rat and he gets the 2x medium mouse.

They are both very healthy and pick up weight and length at the same rate (unless the female is gravid lol!)
 
Yeah same here with mine!! My female will eat a rat even while I am still holding her haha! And my freakboy, just likes his mice.
 
Gotta love the 'battle of the sexes'!

Should not be a problem if he feeds just on mice. Just ensure he gets no less than 2 small. Preferable 2 medium.

Yeah for sure he gets as many as he will take...2-3...and I try to find the biggest ones too so that he gets a good sized meal out of each sitting.
 
I now have the LTR from Markus and his last 3 meals have been fat f/t or p/k rats. He doesn't hesitate before grabbing them. I expect him to fatten up in no time at all. Weird how they change their demands for no reason at all. lol

Charmaine, Perhaps offer a couple p/k rats and see if the snake will eat those and when they're eating those reliably, try a f/t rat.
