    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

OK. We built an enclosure for our Leo's. My son didn't like the typical "rack" unit because it looked like a warehouse. But more space is needed because he's up to 4 adults (...plus 2 more comming from Crested Gecko any day!!) 4 sub adults, 11 hatchlings and 9 more cooking! It is 14" deep X 36" long X 14" high. Once we decide if we are happy it will be one of many ...they are designed to stack on top of each other. It has a self/ledge to add floor space. We are planning on housing 3-4 females in it. It will have flex-watt heat and is nearly complete but we've run into a problem! We can decide how to add a light.(more for our viewing then for them...blue or red) We want something low profile so they can get near it and get hurt but not to bright so they aren't offended by it. Has anyone ever used 3 or 4 LED strips or have any suggestions???

I have not used the LED's. Depending on where you can locate the light. I have used undercabinet flourescents before.

Note: I am not referring to any type of halogen. They can and will also put off a fair amount of heat.

I have installed LED strips in various applications, including a showerhead unit that had mood lighting. The plumber didnt want to do it so I had to... but I digress. LED's seem like they would be a good choice, keep in mind that they are VERY bright; some sort of diffuser might be in order. They do "burn" cool and cost alm ost nothing to operate though.

I too had a group type enclosure and had to abandon it because when one of the gex gets sick you have to empty and disinfect the enclosure and it is a pain in the A$$. I had to revert to the rack sweater box system like the pro's use. I guess there is a reason that they use them.......here are some pics.....http://photobucket.com/albums/y99/brianklein/

Good luck!

Even when using a rack system, if a gecko gets sick, you still have to empty and clean/disinfect the whole rack. Just because they are in seperate bins, that doesn't stop the germs from getting to the other geckos
