In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. hello everyone, my name is kayla, i'm new to this forum and i joined because i have some questions about red eye tree frogs. a few day ago i bought 2 baby red eye tree frogs,(i named one orion because he has 3 white marks on his back like orions belt, and the other one is leo, cuz my bf is a leo) and weeks before i bought them i read up on them, did some research, and learned some stuff about them, and i'm a little concerned about them right now so i hope i can get some information from experienced tree frog owners.

question 1. i was told that the tank (10g) should b about 70-80 degrees and humidity at 60%. i have the tank at 80-84 degrees and humidity is between 60-70%, is this ok for them?

2. they've been sleeping alot since i got them, do they do this normally? i was told it's nice to keep the tank dark while they sleep, and i've been doing that lately, i'm not up all night to watch them all the time so i dont know when they wake up, i allways see them asleep tho.

3. i cant tell if they have been eating lately, i've been giving them tiny crickets but it doesnt seem like they're eating, if the crickets are too big i will get them flightless fruit flies, and hopefully they can eat those better, about how long can they go without food? and will they eat every day, or just randomly?

4. i know dirt isnt good for them, i got them bark for the tank, and i have some humidifying moss, is the moss ok for them?

thats all i really have at the moment, if anyone can give me any information i would gladly appreciate it. this is my first time owning tree frogs, let alont any type of amphibian, and i would like to make their environment perfect for them.thanks for reading, and also thank you for any information you may have :)

Hello Kayla :)

Your temps are on the high side, if you can... get them in the low to mid 70's.

They sleep all day as they are mostly nocturnal.

Set the new frogs up on paper towels, that way you tell if they are eating by the waste you will find on the paper towels.

Moist moss is used by alot of tree frog people to help keep the humidity up.
you can keep them on paper towels.

Heres some good info for red eyes.
