    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Red-Eye Treefrog Proper Temp and Humidity?

I have just acquired 2 Red-Eyed Treefrogs and need some advice on temp/humidity.

I bought the Barron's book on them, checked multiple online caresheets, and am still having problems deciding what to keep them at.

The book tells me 75-85F day temp and doesn't specify humidity levels.
This is what I found on the online caresheets...

Day Temp - 78-85F
Night Temp - 66-77F
Humidity - 80-100%

Day Temp - 75-80F
Night Temp - 70-75F
Humidity - 60-70% min

Day Temp - 76-82F
Night Temp - few degrees cooler
Humidity - 60-100%

Day Temp - 70-75F
Night Temp - few degrees cooler
Humidity - 30-50% during non breeding season, 80% during

I am housing them in an Exo Terra Glass Terrarium 18x18x24

The difference in temps and humidity recommendations is the different keepers experience with these wonderful tree frogs. :)

I would recommend a good temperature range of 76*-82* with a slight drop at night.

Red Eyes do best at high humidity. shoot for 80% and a little either way will not hurt them.

Thank You! I've been experimenting with different temps and humidities and found that to be a pretty accurate measurement. They don't like the lower 70s at all and do demand a higher humidity then 75%. I noticed that I also need to find a better way to circulate air in their habitat. The terrarium I have only has a screen top which is covered by the light fixtures. Anyways, thanks again!
 
I have exo terras and the new zoo med enclousers as well. with only screen tops, what I have found to work really well with frogs that require good air movement is cieling fans run on low all the time. ;)
