Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Red light flashing for ghosts?

I am so anal I outcross my feeder mice. :) I wouldn't hesitate to breed children back to the parents though if I thought I was working with some new genetics that I could prove out to be something nice. Once you prove it out you can always breed the orignal parent to unrelated normals to make yourself some hets or visibles if you're working with a new codom. And of course if something weird shows up in th first generation like pop eyes or another deformity you'll have to either discontinue the project or work on outcrossing it if possible.

I thought it was only me. All mice receive preferential treatment at home.
 
My main thinking is that the feeder mice have been said to live about a year while the "fancy" mice are said to live about 3 yrs. I figure it's probably just from muddying up the gene pool. I go to the local pet store and cross a few colored mice into the colony every so often, not sure if it will help long term as the colony hasn't been going that long yet. If I get longer lives, more babies per litter, and stonger/larger animals I'll know it's working. If not so be it, at least I don't have to look at all white....it's a change of scenery.

Not to mentition that you have colored ones incase anyone gets picky and decided that white is so last season.

I'm reluctant to use all color though so they don't get used to non-white and I get short and end up buying from Rodentpro which only offers white. Most of my snakes will powerstrike anything in a 3 block radius that vaguely smells like mouse but I can never be too careful. Oh well, we're off on a tangent.....time to go back on topic. :>off_to<:

OMG I ALWAYS have that problem!!! I can NEVER get my girlies to eat the white ones after labor day??
