I went to the Rancho San Diego pet Hospital. Recommmend NOT going.
Do they have a display tank in their office with subpar looking bearded dragons? I think my wife applied there but saw the beardies and was please to not be hired on.
There is a good reptile office up north All Pets Animal Hospital in Encinitas, they have Docs that used to work at the Zoo, they are extremely good people.
Another is Avian and Exotics off the 8 freeway and Hotel Circle, Dr Todd R. Cecil, stay away from Jenkins he has a very bad reputation for not properly treating animals. He is a nice guy, but is also good at telling you that you are wrong yet repeating what you told him which makes you right, I have experienced him and will not do so again. I heard they can be pricey, but I used them once for a necropsy and it was only $45.
I am not sure if Dr Larsen is around any more, he is in his 70s or 80s and he worked in La Mesa, he was pretty great with us and has worked with reptiles for over 20 years. I think he retired this last year. He used to treat the snakes that were used in strip shows, he did not like them because all the snakes have RI. He had some good stories.
There is the Pet Hospital of Penasquitos with Dr Thomas H. Boyer off Carmel Mtn. Rd. One more I can think of is the Rancho Mesa Animal Hospital with Dr Patricia Carter off Miramar Rd. I have never used them, but I have heard Boyer was good. Carter I have only heard the name.
If any of these fits your area and fancy let me know and I can give you there address and phone number.
