    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Reptimart.com and Reptibid.com are owned by Howard Fluker. Howard made an appearance at the Tampa Show and then later sent an employee to hand out fliers for his new sites, which are registered in another name.

Anyone got any more info?

Reptile Republic is Fluker as well as ReptiBid and ReptiMart.

However, it is listed under another name out of Miami. I just wanted the community to know who was behind it.

Who's Howard Fluker and why is this "need to know info". A little background info would be nice. Otherwise I just don't get it. :(
 
Linda, Howard Fluker owns Fluker Farms and was responsible for sending many sick animals into the states, including animals with Cryptosporidium. This has been hashed out here before, and hopefully someone will be patient enough to dig up a link for you.

I just wanted to add my little bid on here about reptibid.

1st off though...

reptibid = reptimart = reptichat = reptibid.ca (the new one that's not out yet that he shared with me)

Next...let me tell my story...

As most of you know, I had a problem with a individual (Ryan Neubauer) that bid and backed out 3 weeks afterwards on an auction of mine posted on reptibid. It all gives the information, and to save web space, I'm not repeating myself. Anyway, there's STILL a feedback problem on my account with them from his false accusations (Skunder is my username there) and you'd think they'd have fixed it by now! They're just stalling!

But should we even say "they"?? I had been in contact with an individual at reptibid through yahoo instant message who was under the username Reptibid. At 1st he was very professional and not a problem. He was keeping me updated on the Neubauer matter (the guy claiming he was sending them this or that, that he was going to scan this or that and email it, yadda yadda yadda - what was fascinating about this was he kept switching what he was sending - thus additional proof what a fraud the guy is - btw, he NEVER sent ANY information); and we got to know eachother over time and chatted and things got a bit more personal. We shared information about our lives and everything. As this went on, he began claiming that he was the soul owner of it all, that he was located in Florida...for "security reasons" he pretended he was more then one person...I believed him, why shouldn't I? He seemed nice enough! Seem honest and helpful! Then the past 2 days I've been catching him in lies left and right! He was telling me how he paid $4000+ for the chat software he uses (which even I didn't really believe because that's CRAZY) and he even showed me the site he's setting up for canadian reptibid (http://www.reptibid.ca/index2.html). He's saying now that it's a corporation/firm and he's only the webmaster. He's refusing to talk to me or plays dumb. Makes me wonder what exactly is going on with the thing. I myself won't be useing them ever again! and I don't recommend anyone else does! The whole this is a big fraud.

I wish I had saved all the IMs and emails he sent me...I'm sure he's going to come on here and deny it all...Cover his butt...Even try to claim Neubaurer was in the right. I really don't know if it is just a guy on a power trip trying to impress a girl or if it's a couple of scammers. I really, truely, genuinally liked the guy, but all this crap is just way too much! Why couldn't they're be honesty???

Is this Fluker information true? That's just damn scary!

I don't know what to think anymore. Why is the herp world so trashed by stuff like this?
 
I have to agree that reptibid plays games or is multiple people... he/she/they often come into faunachat and one time asked me to moderate their chatroom. I figured I'm online enough that one more distraction would be fun, so I gave him/her/it my information via email and he/she/it confirmed receipt of it. Next time I spoke to him/her/it he/she/it denied knowing anything and said it was someone else in the company.

Something to keep in mind when dealing with reptibid.....

As I told you on a previous email to you (see email copy below dated friday may 23), the program is not enabled to this feedback clearing you are talking about. You can ask RichZ who runs this forum and also uses the same software for his auction board as we do.

Actually you can edit the feedback relatively easily. You need to FTP into the directory "/cgi-bin/auction/auctiondata/feedback". In that directory will be files for each user which is used to store the feedback info. Just find the offending line and delete it.

Just be careful you use a straight text editor and don't use anything that might insert special characters. I STRONGLY suggest you make a backup of the original file first.

Be sure to study the text file layout first so you understand where to make the cuts. It's really not complicated, but I do this sort of thing relatively often on my server. Editing files is just par for the course when you are doing server admin duties.

Oh yeah, note the first three lines in the file are numerals which are the actual counts of the feedback, so you will need to decrement the counter for negative feedback as well.
