In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

REptibid.com had this thing they caled an insane promo about two weeks ago (june4,5,6 i think). They had reptiles and and feeders at insanly low prices. cricket were free in 50 count tubes.

well i won a tube. I recieved the tube on june 15 and it smelled horible and there was no signs or movement inside. i looked at the postage and it was sent throught normal post for $0.83 or friday the 11.

well i opened the tube to look inside and found a mushy rotting blob. it was obvious they all died a couple days ago.

Evern though they were free i stilll wouldn't due business with reptibid.com or bugdepot.com

anyone else get a nice surprise from this promo like i did?

Reptibid

They also had cheap bearded dragons for about $9 each I think it was. This effectively destroyed any chance anyone who was selling beardeds at the time had of getting a decent sale.

Why they had this promo is beyond me. It did damage to their own reputation by under massively undercutting their own customers (Sellers) who use their site to sell.

That's my opinion!

Hmmm....

I actually had a good experience with this...

I had won a couple of things and a tube of crickets. They arrived on this past Monday with very few "casualites", I only saw 4 dead in the lot of them of them (and most are still alive now as well, as I only have 4 small reptiles that eat a few crickets a day). The only thing I can figure is that yours must have overheated and died. I actually have been considering purchasing a cricket supply every few weeks with them since I received my order in good shape.

I had also won 2 baby bearded dragons from ReptileMax which also arrived in great condition, no missiing toes or anything, looking and eating great.

I think what ReptileMax did actually did generate renewed interest in Reptibid and brought some new (good) people in. I am a seller (and occasional buyer) on Reptibid myself and have noticed that sales have picked up a good bit since they did that promotion.

Just wanted to share my experience since it was a positive one all the way as far as that promo was concerned.

As for Reptibid, obviously, they are still trying to work out all the "cracks" in the system through which some dead-beats and scammers still fall though unfortunately. I know that Reptibid has a "bad rap", but having been one of the very first buyers/sellers to join when the site first opened, I can honestly say I have seen a lot of improvement in the one year plus that I have been registered on there.

well

im curious to see about the 11 dollar boas, who got them?how were they? or hmmm let me guess all the 11 dollars boas went to someone local or something? IMHO they should send ya another tube of crix if they had one ounce of integrity they would have made sure ANYONE who won these supposed promos, received what they won .period.,the whole thing seemed fishy to me ,,,oilwell thomas davis:(

?

As I understand it, (I could be wrong) but reptilemax are owned by the same people who own reptibid. So, reptibid competed with the sellers who sell on their site.

Didn't make sense to me!

You do know that ReptiMax is the same company as ReptiBid right? So is BugDepot. They are all owned by Flukers.

So ReptiMax didn't do anything to help ReptiBid. Flukers did something to help their own interests.

whats wrong with that, im sure the owner of this site sells his stuff here. there defently isnt anything wrong with a site owner to sell there own stuff via there own site.

im sure the owner of this site sells his stuff here.

But does he undercut his competition to the extent that they can no longer make a sale?? Heck no...

Personally, I wouldn't have allowed any of those Bearded Dragons into MY house. Doesn't anyone remember the last time Fluker had a "contest" involving Bearded Dragons??

Yellow Fungus anyone?

it was just a promo tho. its not like they are on there all day selling 5 dollar beardies, it was just a one time thing to catch attention, i guess it back fired in the one case where they sent out a tube of cricket jam. if this site had a promo type deal no1 would be saying anything.

vince it is not well known that fluker's owns reptibid. I would bet 90% of the people using don't know that.

flukers is also KNOWN for selling crickets with parasites and bearded dragons with yellow fungus.

Rich is not KNOWN for selling sick feeders that can infect and kill your animals nor is he KNOWN for selling fungus infected animals that WILL die and could infect all YOUR other animals.

flukers has done this, the infected crickets and the yellow fungus beardies.

fluckers has been around for a long time, they must be doing more good then bad, and yeah you are right, i had no idea that fluker owned reptibid.

i agree on that most people dont know flukers owns all those companies. but what should i do about my "cricket jam" as somone else called it......sorry i forget the screenname.

I e-mailed both bugdepot and reptibid with no responce yet.

do you really even want them to send you more feeder after hearing storys about fungus and sick crickets? just tell them what happend maybe they will send you some of there other packaged products.

They're not going to do anything for you. How much money do they want to spend on each free giveaway item? Surely you're not the only one this happened to.

They only wanted to generate buzz for the two new DBA.

they have responded to my e-mails and they have read this forum....hehe....anyways they are sending me replacements and i wish i turn around for their site.

i have ordered mealies from them a couple of times and have had extremly great success with those batches and i will hopfully have the same resultes with crickets.

Reptibid

Most of the time a scandle involving reptibid is due to someone scamming and them doing nothing about it. Which is where the name Reptiscam comes from.

In this case, reptibid knew exactly what impact the insane promo would have on the then current auctions that sellers had and they didn't care one bit.

Put simply, there was no way the sellers of bearded dragons (for example) could match what reptibid (Flukers or whatever you want to call them) were about to then do. And they flooded the bearded section!

I think it was a very bad thing to do to the sellers who use their site that reptibid will one day want to start to charge fees from. I believe the promo was designed to see how many new people they could attract and figure out when they can plan on starting a fee per auction structure!

It may be a few months away, it may be a few years away.... but it's coming!

I think in addition they were testing out the premise of offering sponsored auctions, using the 'success' of this one as a selling point to offer potential clients.

Of course the main thing was to advertise the two new DBA that fluker is using. A whole lot of people now know about BugDepot and ReptiMax, and Reptibid attempted to promote them[selves] as being generous good guys.

Reptibid promo

Basically, unless your auctions ended before the promo started then too bad, your hard work was of no concern to reptibid.

Here's some details about the promo

http://www.reptibid.com/promo.php

Notice how they make out that bugdepot and reptilemax are sponsors. They are all owned by flukers who own reptibid. It's all owned by the same people.... but they want you to think these are reputable companies to impress you!

It's deceitful!
