In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

THIS SHOW IS A COMPLETE SCAM..

If you visit the Repticon site at http://www.repticon.com/ you will read the following...

Guests will be able to experience the Super Pet Expo and the Reptile and Exotic Animal Expo. Shop from thousands of reptiles, reptile products and other exotics at wholesale prices, or enjoy Repticon's one of kind reptile games, demos, and kids' activities.

But when you actually attend the show as i did today... There was NOT Thousands of reptiles as they claim.... There was however two (2) snakes.. That's correct there was 2 snakes in total and one other vendor with a few bearded dragons and that's it!!!

When i asked the person that seemed to be in charge of Repticon were the reptile vendors were, he told me that "ALL OF THE REPTILE TABLES CANCELED AT THE LAST MINUTE" ????

Well, I am going to copy Repticon on this thread and see if they want to comment on their completely FALSE ADVERTISING SCAM and maybe give us a list of ALL the last minute cancellations that i was told about...

Until then.. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ATTENDING THE REPTICON EVENT WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR AREA!!

Mike Russo

Have to agree that it was disappointing, and that's me being nice. Definitely was NOT worth driving an hour and paying $12 to get in only to receive the same "all the local vendors canceled" excuse when I asked at the Repticon booth where all of the reptile vendors were located. Come on, really how many local vendors bought tables? And they ALL canceled..

This is a somewhat different spin on a reptile product vendor not delivering the goods. Hate to say "shame on you Repticon", but proof of cancellations is moot, and count me as a "Doubting Thomas" that there were much to cancel anyway. The credible thing would have been for them to put a sign up before entrance stating that the expectation advertised in their website (product) was not available, and that buyers would be receiving a different or lesser product. That was not likely to happen, and a refund is in order. I would continue to contact them through their site until they square things.

Agreed!

My boyfriend and I also were completely disappointed with this show!!!
But luckily, they did give us our money back when we complained...

No one told us the reptile vendors "cancelled at the last minute".... I don't buy that for a minute. On the Repticon website it says that they "restrict the number of vendors" (not to as few as 2, though) and charge a fee for cancellation!!

Repticon (scam)

I just sent an email to every one of the contacts listed on the REPTICON website alerting them to this thread...

Now let's wait and see if they respond with a reasonable answer... Not the Every vendor on our list cancelled at the last minute excuse!!!!

What a SCAM... Two $12 dollar adult admissions and one $6 child admission to to find 2 Boas and a few bearded dragons for sale???

THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE EXPOSED!!!!

Here is another link to their advertisement touting "THOUSANDS OF REPTILES AND REPTILE SUPPLIES"

If I went to a show called "repticon", there had be more snakes than that there. I'd be demanding my money back, and griping about the gas money to attend even. I usually drive anywhere from 2 to 4 hours to get to any events, and to get there and find 2 snakes and some dragons...... oh yeah.

Mike, Thinking back to the show. If they had alot more vendors supposed to be there dont you think We would have seen empy tables? The reptile section was packed! all 3 tables.... I would think if people canceled at the last minute there would of been empty tables and a bigger area for them?

Which venue was this?

I have been a repticon vendor for a couple of years but I do only attend a couple of thier shows. I know they have been expanding drastically lately. They are small venue promoters that are getting bigger.

Its a shame to set someone get setback a little. You should have recieved refunds though.

thanks

Please be adviced that the Elrod's are part of Repticon in GA, NC and SC ONLY. We have nothing to do with any of the other shows.
Billy will be returning home the first of the week and will address all of this.

We are sorry that your first experience with Repticon was not so pleasent.

Sincerely,
Danny and Cathy Elrod

Repticon in GA

The Repticon show in GA was pretty good. There were alot of local venders and a few from AL and FL. They had a petting zoo and the Georgia Herp So. had a nice display of local herps. Mike

I have to back Cathy up. Anytime she and danny are involved, IE with the Southern Repticon shows, they are great. As far as the ones outside of the southeast...I have no clue. I am a happy vendor from the GA and SC shows though.

I attended the Reptile Expo in White Plains, NY on January 6th....It was great! I spent about 3 hours going from booth to booth. I treated my adult son and my nephew to the Repticon disgrace. I dropped $30 and we were there for about 20 minutes. What a total rip-off! I will never attend any other Reptile Show that is showing anything other than reptiles. Imagine-two boas and one vendor showing dragons! Repticon promoters should be ashamed!!!

I think it is very important to remember that (as was stated before) not all Repticon shows are put on by the same people. I also vend in SC and NC this year.....Cathy has always gone out of her way to make sure everything is right. I guess we'll just have to see what is said by the person that was in charge of this show. Hopefully all the one's associated with the Super Pet Expo will not turn out this way.

I am glad you posted this thread because the website you have listed show that they will not be as close to me this year so I was going to drive to one of the shows in South Carolina all of which are a good drive.

You saved me wasting my time, money and gas I would have been ticked off.

Can you see this?
http://www.repticon.com/

Where does it say "NOT PUT ON BY THE SAME PEOPLE" ? Tis is the promotion that made me want to go to the show..

Boy am I glad I didn't drive those few hours up there and back. I was REALLY REALLY thinking about going. Glad famil stuff came up today and kept me home. That really stinks for all of you who went and well were highly let down! John I know what you are talking about, that same thing made me want to go to it too. :( What a let down!

Sam and everyone here is 2 links to the past two shows that we are involved:
http://www.repticon.com/atlanta/
and
http://www.repticon.com/columbia/

The pictures on each page ARE from that particular show.

These two shows were sold out, even though there was 2 vendors that did not show for Atlanta, and I can say the next show in Spartanburg SC in April is very close to being sold out too!

You know it takes trial and error to do things correctly sometimes.
Jasballs I understand where you are coming from, it doesn't say that but if you go to the contact page you will see who is the contact person for each show.

I cannot comment on the southen shows.. But, the REPTICON Show that we attended at the New Jersey Convention Center was a complete disgrace and everyone that attended deserves an explanation and a refund in my opinion..

For REPTICON to advertise on Kingsnake.com as a reptile show with THOUSANDS OF REPTILES and offer the "All the reptile vendors cancelled at the last minute" excuse is just crazy.. And, we ALL know it's a COMPLETE LIE..

I traveled 3 hours round trip from Long Island to NJ, I paid 3 admissions and was left standing there with several other attendees that were totally SCAMMED into attending this show by FALSE ADVERTISING!!!

Something needs to be done!!

As i mentioned in a earlier post I sent emails to every contact on the REPTICON site.. So far i have not heard from anyone. Maybe you can contact them and let them know that an response is justified.. Show us the list of all these supposed "Last minute cancellations"

Let's see if this issue is rectified properly..
