    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Got my order of hides, chlorhexidine and a temp gun from Reptile Basics today. Great service and fast shipping.:thumbsup:

I've placed a few orders with them ranging from heat packs, temp gun to a Helix and have always been tickled to death with the ease of shopping/paying and fast shipment. I highly recommend them.

How accurate is the temp gun? I've always wanted to get one of those. Is it one of the ones that uses a laser and can read temps across the room if you shot it at a wall?

The temp gun I got from them is the "412L Infrared Thermometer." It's readings match that of my Helix & Herpstat thermostats and a few digital thermometers within a few tenths of a degree. Sometimes the readings are spot on, sometimes off a tenth or two. Which one is off a tenth or two, the thermostats or temp gun, I couldn't tell you, but that's plenty close enough for me & my reptiles.

The suggested maximum reading distance for the 412L IR is 4ft, but I've gotten accurate readings from as far as 6ft. This is my first temp gun and I've had it for about 6 - 8 months now and I'm tickled to death with it. I wish I hadn't waited so long to get one.

Have a good one!
