I've read some bad reviews about this place and I was hesitant to order from them, but that $19.99 shipping and cheap pricing was too enticing. I had a bad experience with Eric Ivins a few weeks prior to ordering this savannah from reptile city. He sold me a "hatchling" size savannah monitor that just happened to be 18" long and was terribly dehydrated and emaciated upon delivery. I tried for 2 whole weeks to get the guy to eat or drink but he just wouldnt. I kept emailing Eric and he kept telling me that he was stressed. Well apparently there was a lot more wrong with this lizard because with a proper size cage, humidity, temps, substrate this poor sick lizard didn't even live 2 weeks! The monitor I got from reptile city, was completely the opposite. I gave him 3 days to settle in his new home and then I began taming him, usually my routine was putting him in the bath tub with me with no water and just letting him smell me and get used to me. A few tail whips later and a month of holding for an hour a day I finally have me a healthy monitor with a great disposition! Hes not quite bearded dragon tame, but I can sit him in my lap and he just sits there looking at me. Hes been eating ground turkey with reptical and dusted 5/8" dubias like a champ! one day he ate 12 dubias back to back.
So to let you guys know, I'm very happy with reptile city, and I would never order anything you suspect may be wild caught from Eric Ivins with south central herp because it WILL arrive sick and you will be lucky if your animal lives more than a month.
