In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I searched around for the best price on an Exo-Terra Glass Terrarium 18x18x24 inches.
Reptile depot tied for the best price. I ordered online.
I can't recall the exact wording on their website, but I read it and was certain I would get my product within about 10 days.
I also recieved an email that stated my ordered was being process and "I would recieve a confirmation" when my order was complete.
Time went by, never heard from reptile depot.
Tried to call. It seemed like half the time they didn't answer the phone...then, when I got a hold of someone, it was always "that is _____(insert random name here)'s___ department, he's not here, you need to call back in a couple of hours"
Finally got a hold of someone. Asked about my order status, they said they would check and get back to me. I called them back later. Turns out my product was not in stock (not indicated on their web site). It would be shipped in a few days.
I waited.
Got to the point I needed an enclosure for some new arrivals. Emailed & called reptile depot to cancel. Got the same product from someone else. On my doorstep in 5 days.
More than six weeks after my original order, the product came from reptile depot. I went back over my credit card info. They had billed me almost the second I ordered, even though the product was not in stock and I never recieved the second email stating that the order had been processed and I was being billed.
I called to try and return the product. No one was there who could help me.
I can see at this point it is hopeless. The BOI here is filled with complaints. I'll just put it on craigslist and take the loss.
Wish I would have looked at BOI before.

Hey mike you put it on your CC. Do a reverse pay and let them worry about picking it up.

Yep. i would leave a message or email RD, tell them they shipped a cancelled order, and tell them to send you a return shipping label to get the items returned to you. Call your CC, tell them the story, tell them you can't get in touch with the company concerning a return, and put the charge in dispute. They deserve it for treating you that way!

I guess this is a question for the bank, but I put it on a debit card. I'm under the impression I don't get the same coverage.

If your debit card has Mastercard or Visa logo...the bank has to honor their policies for charge backs. Normally you have 90 days and sometimes up to 6 months to do a charge back. Your bank will just have you come in and sign something saying why you are disputing the charge and then it is on the company. You normally have your money back into your account within a few days.
Good Luck!

Sorry I just seen this post. When they screwed me out of cages I called my credit card company and told them what happened. They had the money back to me in like a week, and ended up suing reptile depot I'm pretty sure. Either way we got the money, the card company got their money, and reptile depot got nothing. That place needs shut down they are worthless.

I had problems with them to. I bought meal worms and crickets in bulk but I mainly bought them because I needed bulk mealies at the time. I never got a conformation so I called them and they said they had no meal worms in stock but they would still ship out the crickets. when I told them to cancel my order they said they could do that but i would not get my money back for over 10 days totally not ok since they did not have the product I orderd in the frist place. So i just got the crickets and they arrived fine but I was not happy with there service at all

I actually got cussed out by the owner. Theres a thread started by me if you search under reptile depot it explains all that happened. I'll never give then another penny and wont let anyone I know buy from them.

I purchased from them, except it was a live animal. What I received was a very sick animal that required about 4 months of assist feeds and many many trips to the vet. When I contacted them about the problems I was having, I received no response. I wouldn't give them a penny now.

I just wanted to add my own complaint about them. About two weeks ago, I called RD about one of the Leopard Torts. The guy I talked to seemed friendly and told me that if I ordered one before a certain time that day they would ship one out that night so I could get it the next morning. So, right after I got off the phone with him, I ordered my Leopard Tort.

Well, they called about an hour after the guy said I should recieve my Tracking #, and lo and behold, they had "sold out" of them to another customer. Well, I wasn't happy, but he said that they should be getting more in that Thursday, so I agreed to wait.

Well, on Thursday afternoon, I never got a call. So I called. The guy I talked to was very rude, and said "I dont know who told you we would have them today but I dont know when we'll get them in next". So, I said "That's fine, just get your manager to reverse the charges. He agreed to tell him and I thought that was the end of it.

Well, a week later, the charges are still on the CC. So, I called RD again and asked them why I never recieved a refund. The guy went on to explain their terms and that because it was an online purchase I could only recieve store credit.

I was furious, said that "I never got my product, you still don't have my product, so why on EARTH would I even consider that option?" He said that was just company policy, and I told him one way or another I was going to get my money back. He didn't try in any way to help me, and basically...STOLE MY MONEY.

If you cannot give your customer the product they want because you do not have it in stock, common sense will tell you to give their $ back.

Glad I used a CC, we are getting the charge reversed. Never do business with this company.

And all this is why I buy from LLL Reptiles. They may have bad animals, but their prices on supplies and customer service is great....IMO.

RD screwed my order up to and didnt even let me know 2 animals were outa stock........I got store credit back...but thats it.

They basically have a bunch of "kids" working there who r more interested in their new Tats, GFs, or cars. Chameleon cages r in poor condition, as is a few others.
