In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I think the real issue that scares the crap out of me is what if Fedex decides to not ship snakes anymore......then what?

I think the real issue that scares the crap out of me is what if Fedex decides to not ship snakes anymore......then what?

Fedex has been making this waiver available to people for a very long time. I doubt the offer is going anywere makes them too much money I am certain.

Is the Fedex waiver the same as being fedex certified? The thread for getting fedex certified is like 40 sum pages long and looks like a pain. Any advice on getting the fedex waiver would be greatly appreciated? Need to ship some snakes ASAP! Thanks!

I would wonder if they worried about the chances of vemonous snakes being ship that causing the issues. I have some that I would like ot ship befoer it gets cool but have been holding off. I wonder if the wavier is redone ot limit to nonvemonous snakes if the isses be cleared up faster. I know In DE nos vemonous snakes are allowed ot be owned. and a lot of places have heavy restrictions on keeping them. ( plus I(personally) think shipping a vemonous snakes does propose to amny risk for all. with out the use of those special wooden boxes/labeling. )

Basically you are getting certified by receiving the waiver. So I guess you could say its the same thing. When you become certified to ship reptiles you then have the waiver.

From what it sounds like there isn't a problem with shipping venomous snakes. RE's customers aren't going to take that chances.

From what I understand RE has suspended the waiver to resolve the issues with ups turning away customers because of their personal fears of snakes, as well as intentional mis-handling of boxes because they know what is in it.

I'm an RE member, and user. Debbie has been a joy to work with and I've got nothing but good to say about RE. I just hope this gets resolved quickly.

I wanted to explain the current situation with RE and UPS. We have a few people in corporate UPS that have been battling for RE and the reptile industry. There was only 2 more issues we have been working with UPS to find a permanent solution to: Snake Shipping and 3rd party billing (reselling labels). Early this week we made a huge step forward and got waiver free snake shipping approved with UPS through RE. Today we received some very bad news from UPS. The folks in UPS that have been working very hard to get these issues approved lost a very important battle today. We have been told that UPS has sent out a cease and desist order to SYR and pulled there accounts. They told RE today that they can not keep the lawyers from sending the same letter to us. We have been told are accounts are still active and we will need to wait for some of the fires to be put out before they will allow RE as a reseller of shipping labels to the reptile industry. We have 6 months of emails and phone calls assuring RE that our website and business plan was approved before we officially launched our site and most of the problems we have had are from outside pressure being applied to UPS. We will continue to work with UPS to work out this unfortunately series of events and will do everything we can to offer reasonable overnight reptile shipping in the future. We have removed the label option from our website until further notice. We wanted to apologize to all of our members and promise we will do everything possible to work this out with UPS. I placed a call to Chad at SYR today to see if we can work together with UPS to resolve these issues. I have not received a call back. I think at this point we just need to work with UPS together and stop the heat that is being applied at the corporate office. Thanks for the support and please post this in the other forums. We can't hit them all.

This is truly a blow to the reptile Industry.. Crossing my fingers that things work out and you can get UPS to understand that this is a HUGE hit to their profits! Hopefully things will be back online and up and running soon! Thanks for the warning and for the information!

that sucks. i was told that my lavender albino wasn't shipping today (this week, now) because of not being able to print a label. hopefully there will be a permanent fix for this in the future. thanks for the info.

... most of the problems we have had are from outside pressure being applied to UPS....

"Outside pressure"?? Who on the "outside" of UPS cares if they do business with you or not or cares if they allow reselling of shipping labels? And who are they that they can tell a huge corporation like UPS how to run their business?

Sucky setbacks all the way around, though. I truly do hope it all gets worked out in the favor of the herping community...for once.

I hope things get worked out as well. I am in the process of getting FED-EX certified now after getting hassled at two UPS locations this week trying to ship out a snake. Debbie was good to work with and refunded me for my label with out any hassle.
I have used RE in the past and it went off with out a problem. This week the box said "Live harmless Reptile" on it and I got questioned immediately. Once I stated that there was a ball python in there thats when the problems began.

Debbie at RE has been great. for starters.

BUT a current issue with us is, I printed a label on Monday. NOW for those that have done business with me know, when you make a purchase you send me complete shipping address, from there i copy and paste word for word when printing labels so there are NO mistakes. Well there was a mistake. I am only assuming the beginning of this process is/was my fault. The entire shipping address was right, except for zip code. Either I missed the copy an paste? maybe it didnt go threw right? i dunno. I have been shipping this way for 2 yrs? My other packages that were shipped that day all made there correct delivery.

For the ppl that have used SYR know that if the exact addy isnt filled out and correctly a error message will come up stating there is a flaw with this address on this label. BUT not RE. they dont have this option, and my package went to cali on Tuesday. Well after Debbie worked with me on finding it, she had them hold it. and ship to my customer on Wednesday.

This was fine with me because, i use 3/4 inch insulation in a 7x7x7 box with a 40 hr heat pack. (dragon is in a deli cup of course). So I knew if that dragon arrived even a day late it would be just fine! (shipping boxes purchased threw RE)

Well I dont know what happened from Tuesday until now. But my package has misplaced? Cannot be found, and it is now Thursday... :nonod: The great people at UPS!

I cant believe this happened. My error that should have been diverted, probably caused the life of this animal. This is a very upsetting lesson that was learned. Also some what costly at this point. More worried about the animal then the doe. Its just part of this :censored: situation.

Others that are signing up with RE I would encourage it just double check your labels, any wrong number or letter. your package may end up like mine!

BUT.....

I would just like to thank Debbie for ALL the time she has spent with me and working on finding my package. Thanks again Deb and i'll talk to you tonight!
