    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

There wasn't much info on these guys before I made a purchase from them, but I have to say, I'm really happy with what I got from them. I dealt with both Craig and Derek.

I purchased a pair of hatchling box turtles, and these are two of the most lively, curious little babies I've ever had. I get hatchlings every year, either from my group, or online, or both, and these little guys seem special.

Both Craig and Derek were easy to talk to, willing to answer questions, and really great about taking pics of what they have. And when they say you get what's in the pictures, you get what's in the pictures. Too many times I've purchased an animal and I open the box, and it's not at all what was shown to me. These guys won't do that.

I don't make good guy threads nearly as often as I should, but I thought that Reptile Pets Direct treated me very good, and I will buy from them again. Thank you, men. :thumbsup:

I just received a group of Xenagama taylori from Reptile Pets Direct. Fantastic, healthy, animals and great communication. These animals are really hard to find, and I was thrilled to find a captive bred group.

I visited their retail store in San Antonio, TX, and my experience with the cleanliness and staff knowledge was exemplary. They knew what they were doing for care, and they didn't treat me (overweight, overly pleasant, excessively smiling mom of two) like I didn't know how to care for a corn snake which was refreshing and, frankly, wonderful. I'm so used to having to defend my herp care knowledge.
The only issue I had in the end was that their in store price was SIGNIFICANTLY higher than their online price. Like. $25 per animal higher. I was informed that shipping costs them almost nothing, and that they make a good deal of profit on each animal. In the end, I remembered the costs of the animals I was purchasing (Argentine Tegu and Northern Australian Blue Tongue Skink) higher than the site said, so I figured I was breaking even, despite the hour of round trip driving I did.
When I got home, however, I realized that I had spent an additional $15 to what the animals plus shipping would have cost. Considering I had tried to talk them down on in store price, I wasn't thrilled.

In the end, I'm okay with what I paid. The cost was higher than shipping, and I really didn't get the selection of animals that would have made it worth it (there were three tegus, all of which had substrate stuck in their gums but seemed otherwise healthy, and a single, obese BTS, who is doing fantastically for me...again....I cannot fault their animal care in the slightest. Clean, no odor, appropriate diets, knowledgeable staff.)

I just wish they'd at least MET their online price, and for anyone considering making the treck to their real life property....check prices, including shipping, before you make a purchase.
