• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I hope this thread is in the right category, if not hopefully someone can steer me in the right direction if otherwise!
I was just curious if anyone has ever heard of a reptile 'breeder' with the name 'Reptile Resorts'? The breeder, named Stan, does Tortoises and Turtles mostly and I was wondering if anyone has dealt with him or heard if he is legit or not.
The reason I am inquiring is because my husband and I have made an order to get a pair of tortoises and some turtles from him but he either takes a very long time to get back to us, or has a reason every time as to why we can't pick them up. I've been skeptical for awhile wondering if this guy is just a big scam artist. What really led us to wonder if he is legit is that someone posted a warning saying that this guy is a scam artist, and that the person paid the deposit, even went to the house and got a receipt, but never heard back from the guy or seen the merchandise. Now we've had several conversations back and forth with this Stan guy via email and texting but again, it's always just one big vicious circle obtaining the promised reptiles.
So if anyone has any information regarding this or would have any suggestions as to deal with a potential scammer we would be very greatful! Oh and just incase anyone is wondering, this guy is located in Aldergrove, BC and supposedly has a couple of breeding facilities around BC.
Thank you!
