    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I wanted to explain the current situation with RE and UPS. We have a few people in corporate UPS that have been battling for RE and the reptile industry. There was only 2 more issues we have been working with UPS to find a permanent solution to: Snake Shipping and 3rd party billing (reselling labels). Early this week we made a huge step forward and got waiver free snake shipping approved with UPS through RE. Today we received some very bad news from UPS. The folks in UPS that have been working very hard to get these issues approved lost a very important battle today. We have been told that UPS has sent out a cease and desist order to SYR and pulled there accounts. They told RE today that they can not keep the lawyers from sending the same letter to us. We have been told are accounts are still active and we will need to wait for some of the fires to be put out before they will allow RE as a reseller of shipping labels to the reptile industry. We have 6 months of emails and phone calls assuring RE that our website and business plan was approved before we officially launched our site and most of the problems we have had are from outside pressure being applied to UPS. We will continue to work with UPS to work out this unfortunately series of events and will do everything we can to offer reasonable overnight reptile shipping in the future. We have removed the label option from our website until further notice. We wanted to apologize to all of our members and promise we will do everything possible to work this out with UPS. I placed a call to Chad at SYR today to see if we can work together with UPS to resolve these issues. I have not received a call back. I think at this point we just need to work with UPS together and stop the heat that is being applied at the corporate office. Thanks for the support and please post this in the other forums. We can't hit them all.

So what are you and every other breeder doing now that these two very well known companies have placed shipping "on hold"? For those that are not fedex certified, they are pretty much screwed until all these issues with UPS are worked out, right?
 
This is why many people continued to go ahead with getting fed ex certified. As soon as SYR was shut down, a lot of us assumed that RE would end with the same fate..

Getting fed ex certified does not take long.

Unless shipping snakes, you are still fine to use the other methods, but they are not nearly as cheap.
 
I have had great luck with fed ex recently. I was happy also using SYR. My opinion would be to keep your options open and not solely rely on one company or service(if there are options available).
 
I'm really upset about this too. Shipped 5 babies using ReptilesExpress and was really happy with them and they had great prices. They've always been helpful and nice. I did find this site www.unishippers.com that gives a big discount. I sent my info in to get a quote and they even called me the next day asking if they could help in any way. You don't have to join/be a member, you can just print out labels. It seems like they have pretty nice prices too. Haven't used them yet, but just putting it out there.

Yes, fed ex is more expensive, but at least you know you won't have to deal with the middle man BS.

I am dang sure not gonna just bounce from place to place to place just to save a little money.. and I personally think it is a bit irresponsible and unprofessional.

It is quick, and easy, and free to get registered through fed ex. And then, you at least have the knowledge that you won't need to look for a new shipping source in a week or two.. again..
 
I tried contacting Unishippers a few times - might as well have mailed off another letter to Santa Claus....
