In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Info Reptiles Express - interesting situation

just read the letter to reptile express and unless i am missing something it says they are aproved but not the general population. I must be confused but as a comunity we are worried about outside perception of our hobby/industry but we will take a mile when given an inch> Someone wanna point me toward the specifics were ups says go ahead herp community and use this account for every tom, :censored:, and harry to ship snakes with however they want. cause as we all know there is no control when you just say here buy the label from me. i don;t see the packaging or the box and i guess money is more important than my hobby not being made illegal. Hello anyone wanna help me out with this? i wanna see proof UPS knowingly is letting everyone ship there snakes via reptile express.
also can we use shipyourreptiles again for snakes?

I went back and read it again. Read the part I put in bold. I'm not defending anyone here. I am only pointing it out.

Lucille this is given to everyone that is a approved member of RE. Its has already been posted on Fauna. I can find the org post on the thread. Maybe a moderator can help with that. Here it is again:

RE: Acceptance of Live Non-Venomous Snakes from ReptilesExpress.com and its Customers
Dear Reptiles Express, LLC
We have reviewed your request for UPS to reconsider our policy prohibiting acceptance of any kind of
snake (venomous or non-venomous) for transportation. Upon completion of our review it seems
appropriate that UPS can transport non-venomous snakes, provide specific restrictions and conditions
are met.
Restrictions: First and foremost, UPS will only accept non-venomous snakes. Venomous snakes must not
be offered for transportation at any time. Second, any snake listed on the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
website as a “Threatened or Endangered Species” is prohibited by UPS and must not be offered for
transportation. Finally, live non-venomous snakes must be offered for transportation via UPS Next Day
Air Service only. Unless Saturday Delivery is specifically requested, live non-venomous snakes may only
be shipped Monday thru Thursday.
Conditions: You must comply with some basic principles of humane care and safety in preparing and
packaging live non-venomous snakes for shipment. UPS is not liable for perishable items including live
snakes and does not provide temperature-controlled distribution. Packaging must be designed to
provide a primary and secondary means of containment. Each snake must be placed in a fabric or
burlap type bag of sufficient material strength to ensure the snake cannot tear or otherwise
compromise the integrity of the bag. The bag must be sealed or closed in such a fashion as to prevent
the bag from opening during transport. Each bag (or multiple bags) must be placed in a box constructed
of double wall corrugated of sufficient strength and size to accommodate the size and weight of the
snake(s) being shipped. It is recommended that an expanded polystyrene (EPS) box be placed inside the
corrugated box to provide additional protection from sudden environmental changes to which the
package may be exposed during handling and transport. If an EPS box is used the external corrugated
package may be constructed of single wall corrugated.
It is the responsibility of the shipper to identify any additional requirements necessary to provide basic
humane conditions for the non-venomous snake during transportation, such as air ventilation and a
source of moisture. Also it is suggested that the packaging used or developed to transport nonvenomous
snakes be submitted to an International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) certified testing lab
for pre-shipment testing prior to being offered to UPS for transportation.
Due to the nature of these shipments UPS is depending on the integrity of the shipper to comply with
the restrictions and conditions stated herein. If at any time UPS determines in its sole discretion that
the terms of this letter are not being met, the shipper will immediately notify to cease all shipments of
snakes.

So you are saying your proof is entirely circumstantial, and you do not in fact know that the signature is genuine.

I am saying I personally have not talked to Mr Bradley Cooper but I have talked to our Reps Mr Andy Moseley and was assured it was his legitimate signature
I suppose until Mr Cooper actually comes on the site it may all be circumstantial
But I guess someone saying someone called and said it was a fake signature is also circumstantial . I also say let management hammer it out and I will keep doing what I do try to satisfy the customer with whatever means I have. debbie@ReptilesExpress

She says that Reptiles Express had a temporary pilot program that allowed them to ship animals but that it didn't work out
Any chance that the employee was confused (wouldn't be a first ) and was thinking about SYR instead of Reptiles Express?

After all SYR had a pilot program and it didn't work out? :shrug01:

Please forward any info you have about what happened with the HUB and the phone call that came later from UPS to me Ross. Please post anything you have that supports your claim. I take this situation very seriously and will stay on top of it, that I promise.

Will do.

Ross what did the hub say to you as they took your snake in for shipping?

Once everything was cleared up they politely took the package from me.

The next day I receive a phone call from the helpful lost prevention lady at UPS. She tells me that the letter was fake and that the signature was copy and pasted. She says that Reptiles Express had a temporary pilot program that allowed them to ship animals but that it didn't work out. She informed me that the customers of Reptiles Express had no way of knowing any of this so none of the customers are held responsible but Reptiles Express is in a lot of trouble.

Well, this is not a very satisfactory conclusion, is it now. Debbie, you were given an opportunity to post the signature to the waiver, that has not happened. I think it is now time for some corroboration efforts......

RE.... here is something to consider to see some of our way of thinking.

First Ripster came on the scene and promised the world. Turned out to be a scam
Then SYR came on the scene and promised we could ship via UPS. They lost their waiver.
Now RE is on the scene and saying we can ship via UPS.

See how we may be skeptical. It seems like UPS has no desire to work with the reptile community.

I have shipped several times with reptilesexpress and had zero issues. I actually asked at 3 different UPS hubs the one in the Bronx NY, Elmsford NY and in South Norwalk Ct all 3 confirmed shipping reptiles is allowed with certain conditions and a waiver. The box must be clearly marked as containing reptiles and it must be on reptilesexpress account as they hold a special waiver. One of them can't remember which now had said they had just gotten a memo from corporate about reptile shipping a few days prior. I doubt a UPS hub employee would lie as he could have just as easily told me no I won't ship the package. Every reptile I ship has a label on 2 or more sides of the box that say clearly "LIVE HARMLESS REPTILE" so there was no mystery as to what I was shipping. Tom Barone [email protected]

I think this thing is blown very out of proportion. That facts are: this is what happened to one customer at one hub with only one snake shipment. The hub DID take the snake for shipment and it was delivered on time and everything was ok. Why did the hub take a snake after they told the shipper they dont take snakes? The fact is they took the snake! Not something they would do if RE does not have a waiver! RE has been open and honest about everything. We have a waiver, we have posted it on this and other forums. It is given to all approved RE members and included with every label that is purchased at RE.com. We have hundreds of customers shipping snakes without problems. Until we talk to the UPS employee that made the statements we dont have anything to go on. The waiver given to our customers has the directors name and position with UPS and all of our Reps info. We also require that you label the box correctly and follow our TOS. Why would we have you label your shipment on the outside of the box with the type of snake or lizard? Why would we give you a copy of our waiver and tell you to show it to your drop off point including UPS Hubs? The things we are asking you to do would not be very smart on our part if UPS did not allow us to ship a snake. We will get our UPS reps involved in the morning and have them contact that hub for more info.

I do not think it is unfair for people to be this concerned.. while it is true that this particular animal made it safely.. we do not know what goes on behind closed doors.. WE do not know the details behind the legitimacy of the waiver, and you cannot expect people to just say.. "oh, well he said it is so.. so it must be true" These are our animals, our money, and our time going into these packages.. we will be concerned..

people are very frustrated with the fact that we have yet to find a flawless shipping method.. whether due to idiot employees at fed ex/ups that don't care about the living animal, or because of unclear ties between companies, etc.. We want things to work, with certainty .. so when a flag goes up like this.. you best be sure people are going look for some clarification.

We will be here.. waiting for that..

Well wether it be sideline deals with UPS or some idiots employees at fedex not caring ,

this is why i said to hell with it and jumped thru the hoops to become fedex certified , because i dont have to deal with crap from UPS like this at all .. i make a package , i ship a package , and i get no hassles whatsoever from fedex employees or hubs ..

save yourself the headaches and get certified with Fed-Ex ..less headaches ..
JMO!!

Lucille ,
Are you an approved members of ReptilesExpress ? I am not an owner I am an employee(Customer Service) I only email copy's of our waiver to members, per owners instructions, due to the fact someone may use it for fraudulent purposes If you want to apply I will be more than happy to email it to you . All our members have excess to it as well as our terms of agreement. We would love to have you as a member.
debbie@reptilesexpress

RE is very concerned with all of our customers and there animals. I ship my animals with RE. We make all of our own shipping supplies so we can control the quality and maintain the standards UPS and FEDEX require. Look at all of the positive feedback we have received from our actual members using our service. We will look into this problem and have it corrected. As of right now we only know that a UPS hub told our customer RE is in trouble and not allowed to ship reptiles. Then took his snake and shipped it to the destination with out problems.

I will give them this....

This is actually more than the other company was doing. Im not going to say that ya'll aren't on the up and up... it seems like you are. I just hope you can understand some of our concerns when it involves UPS. Those concerns come from experience and UPS's unwillingness to give the average joe a waiver.
