Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Good Guy Reptiles Express

Has anyone had problems with the tracking number you purchased from R.E. not showing up on UPS' website?
I get a ">>> UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Please verify your information and try again later. " when I enter in my tracking number.... and the package was dropped off at a UPS store 3.5 hours ago.

Did the same thing to me but at about 5 hours after I dropped off the 4 box's they all showed up with the time I actually dropped them off once they left the facility. I was kinda worried as the girl at the desk acted like the snakes were going to jump out of the sealed box and bite her.
 
I have sent out 2 shipments with them a couple of weeks ago. The first went with out flaw. The second I tried the Next Day Air Saver. Not sure if because I used this option but after delivering them to the UPS store and getting up the next morning to check on them they were being sent back to me. So I called UPS. They were all we dont ship snakes. I told them I have a copy of a waiver to do so and gave her Reptiles Expresses name. Once again before I could get the words out of my mouth she repeated "we dont ship snakes". I then got angry and asked for her name and employ number. She got a little frantic. She told me to hold on. She then came back with the info I informed her of. She said I would have to contact Retiles Express.

(employs that work over the phones dont like it when you ask for there name and employ number by the way it really scares them and gets them off there butt)

I then contacted Debbie at Reptiles Express. She told me how sorry she was for the mix up and would get right on it. She then called back about a hour later and told me that it was all worked out and that they were heading to there destination now. She kept me informed every step of the way. She also refunded the money for that shipment.

I will be using them again for sure. They are very dedicated to there job and will help out in any way.

If you drop a package off at a UPS store it will not show up in UPS's tracking system until the pickup driver scans the package for the first time. Sometimes it will not show in there system until it arrives at the local UPS hub. Some stores do a electronic transfer direct to UPS for the labels the store sold that day. The driver only scans 1 barcode that has all of the stores shipments for that day so there will be no record since you dropped off a prepaid label until it hits the hub.
 
I used Reptiles Express for the first time today, sending one box to Phillipsburg, PA and one to Miami, FL. Both arrived on time and all the snakes were accepted alive and well, and my customers were happy.

Please excuse the double post, but I wanted to fix my mistake. My post should have read that I used them for the first time yesterday (7/19), as my packages would not have been delivered the same day. They were delivered the day I made my original post (7/20). Sorry for any confusion, but I wanted to report my pleasant experience correctly.
 
I will start by saying that Debbie is one of the best I have ever worked with. I have used these guys now on three shipments and in my opinion, they went to market with this site before they should have. I have yet to get any type of email confirmation from UPS on any of my shipments even though I clearly provided the information to do it. I also dont like that you cant provide a second email address (my customer's) so that they see the same confirmation emails without me having to forward on emails. SYR has that feature and I think it is a nice one to have. Checking out and paying through Paypal is challenging but you can figure it out. Should be more intuitive and better instructions provided. For example, Debbie told me that she downloads the shipping labels to her desktop, good information and it would have been nice to read those "Helpful Hints" on the site.

I am glad they are around and I will use them more but I think it would have been a smart move to beta test this site more before launch.

Those are definitely some great points. After "the other guys" ran 3 of my last 4 packages late (one of which was nearly 24 hours late!!), I was just happy to get my packages taken care of again, and ON TIME!!.

I'm sticking to my guns by considering them good guys; however, I DO hope that these features are added to make navigating the site AND getting tracking numbers and any confirmations e-mailed to my customers and me!
 
I have sent out two packages so far with Reptiles Express, no problems at all. I also liked using PayPal for payment as my customers payment was sitting in PayPal anyway.
I agree having the option of adding an additional email address for confirmation and tracking would be a great plus. I also need to find out how to print the shipping label out differently so it is not in the middle of my paper and I have to fold over all edges. This of course is minor and might just be a setting on my end.
I ended up saving a dollar or two from what SYR was charging. Here again not a big deal.
If everyone sends suggestions or things that they think might improve the ease of the site,ect....I would think that would be taken into consideration and possibly changed if a change seems valid. They are new and just starting this up....SYR has made a few changes on their site recently and they have been running quite a bit longer. Give them time. :)
I have met Brenden at several shows and he is a great guy. I am glad we are able to use a shipping company where we know the people...
 
I Must agree to most of what is said on here but my understanding is the reason they went public when they did was because of what happened with SYR. They wanted to give the community the option for cheaper delivery with all the service they are able to provide! With a few tweeks and with the way that Debbie handles problems when they do arise says a lot. As long as the community doesn't make stupid shipping errors then things will get smoother as bridges are crossed and mistakes are taken care of. I for one will definately use them again without hesitation knowing that Debbie is there to help out any time of day from what I understand :)

that's how it works @ my place. we've got a ups hot printer with ups worldship software since we ship everyday. basically, you've got your tracking number on the label as well as in the system, but it doesn't get to UPS until i run "End of Day" which prints out the barcode with all shipments for the day as you were speaking of.

To answer a few of the questions: We did go public much sooner then we had planned on. With SYR's current situation we decided to go live early and new we still had lots of work to do. We had been testing the site for more then 6 month before we went live. We had a problem with the address verification and the email notification so we have temporally turned these features off as we correct it on our end. We can add multiple email address if that is what everyone wants. I have added it to our web developers to do list and should be in our next update. We want suggestions from everyone to make our site easy for everyone to use. Most of the suggestions in this and other threads have already been added to the site. We should also be at least 10% less then SYR. If we are not please let me or debbie know and we will correct the problem. email me with anything you think will make the site better. I would like to personally thank everyone for their kind words and also their patience as we are working through any problems with our site. I believe with our customers suggestions and web developers hard work it is already much improved. Ups is also working very hard to work out any problems they may have, there is still a little confusion on there end with shipping snakes. If you ever have any problems please feel free to contact me and I will continue to do my best to solve them

I haven't used them to ship yet but I was approved for membership really fast and Debbie was great!

Just wish I could order some supplies but that doesn't seem to working yet
