• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Reptilesncritters.com - Thieves

It's not a question of my willingness to stop breaking the law or not, it a question of my time. It may take several weeks for me to vet all of these images. There is much work to be done to produce a catalog of what images I have that I own, verses what needs replacing. In the meantime the my website must serve it's audience. So to put in the more black and white language that apparently is the only type you can understand, I will not "stop breaking the law" until the work is completed. That may take the rest of June or longer as I have other responsibilities in my business but that's just what you are going to have to settle for. How do you know that I am going to actually make these needed changes? You don't really. Only time will tell if I am going to make good on this endeavor. One thing is certain, I don't have the budget in terms of time to respond to comments AND make updates to my websites. So with these remarks I am going to conclude this discussion (at least for me. I am sure you will all stew for days to come and keep this thread alive) and get to the more important work of removing all of the DMCA violations. If anyone would like to reach me they can do so through my website contact page.
Not having time is not a excuse for breaking the law! Take down the whole website until you clean it up. Your not serving a audience your just interested in padding your pockets!!! I hope you get your behind sued so hard and you lose everything!!!

For someone who went to school for graphic design ur not very productive if it takes several weeks to delete, and then copy/paste some new pictures up. My sisters do about a hundred pictures a day on facebook. No wonder u have to flip animals. And to everyone out there who has their pics stolen and has asked for their removal, now is the time to call a lawyer because he blantly and simply stated he will not comply with the law. Hope u enjoy being broke!

No kidding. I'm a graphic designer, and even with a newborn baby that I have to help bottlefeed every few hours, I can knock a few hundred photos done in one night.

One thing is certain, I don't have the budget in terms of time to respond to comments AND make updates to my websites.

Budget, my left toe. All you do is sit at home and wait and hope for someone to send you money. Get off your lazy, thieving butt and start removing the photos. That is the best course of action for you now. You're not going to change anyone's opinion, so there's no sense in continuing to keep coming back on here and failing miserably to deflect the heat off yourself. You're not fooling anyone, and the only other thing you achieve is making sure this thread stays at the top!

Just shut up and delete the pics that aren't yours.

The ethical thing to do, since you know you are making sales based on the work of others, is to take your whole site down, fix it, and then put it back up.

Probably out of the question because you are you... but that is the right thing to do.

"all for one and that's me," right Robert?

I understand that ignorance is no excuse and I am complying with everyone's legitimate requests. However, to assume that my business and my dealers are less than honest is insulting. We are talking about image usage here and the last time I checked it was not on the same level as murder, bank robbery, or violent crime. I actually think it's is sad and pathetic that so many of you waste your valuable time scouring the internet for "copy write" infringement. I am mean, come on, don't you folks have better things to do with your time? I know I do, it's called running a company and keeping my customers happy.

Maybe if we didn't have folks like you running around the internet trying to use our images without permission we wouldn't have to. Here's a thought.... learn how to take a photo on your own

Apparently this guy is involved in more than one company. If anyone has a list rather than a link, if the company names are listed here the thread will show up when potential customers do a search,

Photographers put time, money and effort into their photos. Just because you lack the skill or talent to produce your own photographs that you are proud of is no excuse for marginalizing the efforts and work of those whose photos you are stealing by indicating that copyrights are silly.

Chris

And most folks that are willing to put in the time and money on their photography don't want to be associated with someone that has no ethics and is willing to steal photos on a whim.

This thread went from regular BOI guy stealing photos, to all out blatant disregard for law and pubic decency business ethics.

Geeze dude, is it really hard to delete a few photos that you know you took?
Especially the one with the water mark still on it. Good lord.

Danny, what kind of hypocrite are you? Condemning me on the one hand while posting a PRIVATE email from myself on a public forum like this? I thought a person like yourself would have been above resorting to this kind of tactic? A private email message posted on a public internet forum that is posted with the express purpose of character defamation is illegal.

Ummmm cant be defamation of character if its true. :shootfoot

Thank you Rich. If you are a member of Terraforums perhaps some of those people could be persuaded to come tell their story here.

:iagree:

Agreed, this is really a case of this dude going from a slap on the wrist, bypassing shooting himself in the foot and straight into jumping in front of a bus. It would have been easy to man up and say my bad, or even come up with some lame excuse; take down the images and that would have been the end of it (ish). But the kicker to me is his negative attitude, disrespect for the people who are putting the work into taking the pictures and dragging this out from something somewhat minor into a thread that brings this persons integrity, ethics and business practices into question. Him trying to defend himself is pointless; all he is doing is tossing logs onto the fire! Just stop… Be a man, don’t STEAL other peoples stuff, don’t come up with excuses and lies, and be honest. That’s it...

"Where there is no wood the fire goes out"

Chad, I have stopped talking for while now and I am back at work making corrections to my website. So why is everyone else still blabbering on?

I appreciate your suggestion to take down every photo that I cannot personally verify, but it's not a tenable option at this time. All I can say is that I am working on changing the way we acquire images in the future. We will continue to replace and change our images when permission based images can be found or are provided by my various suppliers. It's often very difficult to obtain images in the first place. Regarding the misspelling of many of the scientific names, I agree that work needs to be done regarding accuracy. Most of these scientific name inaccuracies have been provided to me by my suppliers who may also be unwittingly passing incorrectly spelled scientific names to me. As you know, a website is never finished and work always needs to be done to make it better to keep all of my customers satisfied.

Just goes to show... you're ok with violating copyright laws. If you were trying to do what's right... then you'd remove the stolen images..... and replace them when you found legal images.

It's not diffucult to obtain those images if you have the animals in your possession. Maybe you should strive for a different business model since you're dealing with live animals.

Why are we still blabbering? Because we are going to keep feeding the fire to stop thieves like you from continuing on.

The thread is still going because the problems remain unfixed.

The lack of integrity you've shown both within this thread and as it has been documented across a long span of years across this and other forums calls all of your business practices in question- but you really just don't seem to grasp that.

IMO the "blabbering" going on in this thread is yours.

Im reading, and not really blabbering.
I just think its rude that you stole peoples images.
Ive known people to get banned from websites and forums because they do stuff like that.. not to mention folks actually sue over these matters because, photography is exactly like painting a picture.
You took the time to find the animal, set up the area where you wanted the picture taken, and took money to buy camera, film (or usb device), and uploaded or printed the pictures off on either a picture printer or otherwise.

Youre taking money away from people by stealing pictures.
PLUS some of the pictures you have up there, are not representation of the animals you have for sale.
I saw you had a rattlesnake picture up for another snake species.
Dude, if you put a rattlesnake picture up for a ratsnake picture, and some noob bought that snake, and either got a rattlesnake or not the one pictured, dont you think you would LOSE money over something like that?
Not to mention putting the customer in jeopardy (if they got a rattlesnake which is highly poisonous).

Exactly. Just take down the stolen pictures. The guys that move your animals... mail them one or two of those disposable cameras, have them take some pictures of the ones that they have in their possesion, and use those to put up on your website.
Disposable cameras are what, $2 at walmart? Is that such a favor to ask so you dont break any laws and get several people angry at you? Cmon now, use your brain... you run a business so i know you have one.
