Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Reptilian Paradise

Well I for one think that this is a just a way to hurt Reptilian Paradise. They have become the store to go to. Because Scales &Tails has gotten such a bad rap maybe this is just some retaliation. I am from the area and have dealt with both. RP has been on the up and up I personally visit weekly. Just a thought.
 
Well, Toreine or whatever didnt really have much of a case in the first place, she had pics of the animal appearing fine. BUt Reptilian Paradise doesnt have a very solid story either. Its 50/50 if you ask me.

When did he complain?? This store is amazing and will help anyone out! I had a bad experience at the North Store (ScalesnTails) and Andrew and Clint took care of me! They didn't mind going through everything twice with me!! They take their time with detail and make you feel comfortable before you make any purchase! I think some people have too much time on their hands!! TEAM RP!!

Absolutely. Chiefly among them, are the owner of the shop, and the likely shill who joined just to comment on his behalf. He had enough free time to make that long-winded reply, which was more damning than the OP's own words, pound on his chest, with his ridiculous threats of mass legal action, and finally enlist your help with cheerleading and damage control.

This may have been an instance where it would have been better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to have spoken out and removed all doubt.
 
I would like to say in response, I was never told she had had an upper respiratory until I came back in when I was told she had a mild one that would go away on its own, just from being moved. I was assured she was healthy, even going so far as to say "so she's healthy?" and getting a 'yes' for response. I was never once told that they'd take her back, although it was mildly implied in the statement "I really don't want to take her back..." proceeding with reasons why I was overreacting to what I'd noticed.
Furthermore, I was not aware that I was getting a grade B animal. And after asking so many questions about her care and proceeding as directed, doesn't it seem odd that she would GET sick in my care?
 
I guess if u look at my activity I am on here a couple of times a day, looking & learning. I don't need to stick up for him, his rep to his loyal customers speaks volumes. If most of u were from this area u would know this is just about trying to ruin his rep cuz his competitors suck. I have been on here before this thread started. Thanks for hearing my side too.
 
I would like to give Andrew props for having the respect to come to me. Whether it should be trusted or not, he is giving off the impression that he wants to help. As it is, I am disappointed with that experience.

I WOULD LIKE TO NOTE: even in my first post, I never said not to go there. I said to use caution and know your stuff, and that is still how I feel. I was sharing my experience, and with all pet stores there are bad experiences and good. My experience is just one, and you can't take all experiences to define the store. I think what happened to me was horrible, but I'm sure there are happy endings as well. Essentially what I'm saying is, if you go in there; use your best judgement, know your stuff, and don't trust care information from one source.
 
I must edit my last post. I had posted on Craigslist as well, and THERE I said that if you were to go there, to use your best judgement and all that. I THOUGHT I had posted that here as well, but unfortunately, I did not. I meant to essentially copy/paste what I had posted on Craigslist, but I did not. Sorry about that guys.

I think you have a very myopic and misguided perspective. He's admitted to having poor quarantine practices. He's admitted to selling a snake that had issues before the OP bought it. He wants to act as if he took the snake in with completely altruistic motives, and that his inentions are completely centered around the snake's welfare. Those ideas fall flat on their faces, when viewed in light of the fact that he flipped a sick snake three weeks after it was given to him. His own words have dug a much deeper hole than the OP's posts.

Three weeks is enough time for a rat bite to fully heal, and for an upper respiratory infection to be completely cured? After owning it for only three weeks, you can be completely certain that a previously-sick snake is healthy enough to be sold? I think you should take off your rose-tinted glasses and see what's actually there. His actions point towards the likely fact that he saw this snake as nothing more than an opportunity to complete a sale on an animal that he had no money invested in. The pursuit of pure profit.

All of the positive experiences that you may have had with him, do nothing to negate neither his very capacity to choose to do something shady, nor the likely fact that he made a conscious choice to act upon those shady impulses.
 
After the things he stated on here, and the Torein stating that he did not disclose a considerable amount of information about the snake and back that up with the fact that none of what was stated about the snake was put in writing, he doesn't have a legal leg to really stand on. There is just no proof of anything, for either side really, except his admission to selling a sick snake with shed issues, a respiratory infection and a bite wound. Otherwise we have alot of claims from both sides.

I detect a lot of ambivalence in your post. (I think maybe the seller's threats may factor into this sudden ambivalence). While it may be true that there may be good experiences to be had in the store, as has been said many times, the true test of a vendor is how he handles himself when something goes wrong.

This vendor failed that test on two separate fronts. First, HE admitted to the snake's poor health and subsequent sale just weeks later. No one had to accuse him of this flip, he himself gave the details.
Second, he comes on here and threatens legal action not only toward the OP but toward anyone who might discuss his business in this thread.

I would not give my business to such a place.
 
Wow. So I must admit that I thought Torein had blown this out of proportion a bit or at the least it was her husbandry that was the issue. I guess that's not necessarily the case now is it?

Thanks Andrew for clearing this up. Now that we have it straight from the donkey's mouth we know who is really to blame now don't we? Since you plan on per suing legal actions please pm me and I will gladly give you my info for your lawyer to contact me.

I also noticed you said either you or your lawyer will be contacting Torein. I recommend you let your layer do your talking as you really did a bang up job defending yourself here.
