Obviously I can't go back and change what was said or posted... all I can do is continue to love my hobby and have fun working with the animal's we've been so fortuneate to have. I have recently spoke to Kelly and apologized to her and Matt for my posts and wished her the best with her season and upcoming shows... She does seem like a very nice person from our exchanges of PM's and I am happy to say that we have moved on from this in a positive direction.
First, I want to apologize for not responding earlier, I was changing internet providers (Verizon to Comcast) and because of their wonderful scheduling issues, I was without internet for a few days....
I want to address this first. Steven and I have spoken on the BLBC via PMs, and have cleared the air between us. As many others have said, I understand the situtation he was in, and am happy to see that he was able to get out while the getting was good. He has a beautiful collection of animals, and I think that he has some great potential to do great things in this industry.
As far as Gerry goes...I have spoken to Gerry many times via email since this situation began, and he has always been a very stand-up guy, going the extra 10 miles to try to help. I think the best thing for him is to stay away from the Reptster name, and move forward.
I guess I can say I am not surprised by this latest announcement that Mr. Young is leaving the industry. I don't think any of us are really. Not a bad thing though that HE is gone, and hopefully someone can get the concept off the ground again. It is going to take a long time, but it can happen.
I believe it was Rextiles (sorry if I am wrong) who questioned what could have really happened with Mr. Young's account. Matthew and I have a theory (imagine that LOL)...
With a regular FedEx account (one that does NOT ship live animals), you ARE allowed to have people ship things through your account, and you can get some serious discounts for volume shipping. I do not know if you have to have the person ship to you, but it is allowed. So I am starting to question if Mr. Young just did not tell FedEx that he was planning on shipping live animals through the account, and once red flags started going up when people were being denied shipments because FedEx employees did not know the live animal policy in general, FedEx started looking into things more? That seems more logical to me now after putting some thought into it (and Matthew bringing it up LOL).
Or maybe he had a billing cycle that was not being paid (90 days? 60?), and that sent up red flags...And if he started shipping back in June, that would be very plausible that FedEx started seeing issues with the billing, then looked into WHAT he was shipping, and WHO was shipping (Joe Blow from CA and John Smith from MA NEVER shipping TO Mr. Young), and THAT is what shut him down so quickly and put him into collections a little faster? It was just SO sudden, I don't think it could JUST be an issue with non-payment for it to go down so fast. I think it was a combination of these things maybe that caused the break. And the sad thing is, it is going to cause anyone issues who wants to start the concept up legitimately...
Just my thoughts. Damn it's nice to be back online!
