In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Reptster Shipping

I considered using them, but when I talked with the Reptster rep. ... he explained that if any shipping issues should arise, that I COULDN'T contact my FedEx rep. any more, and that I would have to go thru Reptster instead.

Not to sure that is a good idea just to save a few bucks :shrug01:

Really?
I did not know that. I would rather be able to speak with the rep directly if an issue arised instead of going thru a third party.
That is good to know. The savings may not be worth it after all.
I'll have to check into this more.
I do know that I cannot bill it to my existing account which kinda bites.

On a side note Jim, I apologize for the crappy way I acted last week. My frustration should not have been directed at you.

So far there have been no issues with shipping and everything has been going flawlessly! ;) :D

As far as saving a few bucks it depends on how often you ship... it saved norsmis $15 in one shipment!!

Depending on how many shipments or boxes you have... lets just say you were to ship 10 shipments a month and at a savings of $15 ea.

10 x $15 Savings = That's a total of $150 Saved!!

or...

20 x $10-$15 Savings = $200-$300 Saved!!!

Not only that but the shipping boxes are free!!

AND!

Soon!

Each box that reptster gives to it's users Reptster will donate $1 per box to the community's choice of a differen't Herp organization/rescue each month!!

So not only does Reptster help save the community money! But it also puts money back into helping other herp organizations and rescues all over the country!!

It's a win/win for everybody!!

I have ordered some boxes and look forward to trying this out. Maybe with those savings more people will look to buying online again. I know shipping costs have made sales of lower end animals more difficult.

I like this. I like repster also. Very nice to see something like this come along. Reaching out too all aspects of the hobby. NICE

Interesting concept. So do shippers still need to be certified through Fedex or are they essentially using Repster's account.

Bart

As I se it you are using Reptsters account. But watching a video there gets you certified to ship via reptster...

Apparently, you just need to watch the video on how to ship properly, and then you are allowed to use Repsters service. They have some deal going with fed ex. Although i dont know the details, Im pretty excited for it though! What a genius service!

By using Reptster and viewing that video every shipper is certified...

That is correct. You are certified once you watch the video. I have followed this since its conception and have talked to David Young (one of the creators) personally on the phone and he was more than helpful. I think talking to him or one of his staff if a problem arises would be more of a benefit than talking to Fedex directly to be honest. I havent had good customer service from Fedex in the past. Anyway, try it out and like someone said, the boxes are FREE!!!!! They will even send you a months worth if you are high volume shipper.....

I will be using them for sure. I think it is nice to see something like this. And maybe fedex is starting to open their eyes that the herp community needs a great shipper and will pay for one.....

I am definatly giving it a shot I ordereed 3 boxes and should have some stuff going out here soon. I think it's awesome!!!!

I know that when I was approached by Reptster, they couldn't save me anything on shipping.

Also.... by using Reptster as a go between for shipping, the shipper is allowed to skip the verification process???

Free box's and donations..... sounds great, but when a shipper runs in a problem and cant deal directly with FedEx...... well GOOD LUCK, and I hope it works out well.

I apologize for your incorrect impression Jim. You can contact FedEx as much as you would like. We are in a third party situation in our partnership. You ship through FedEx, the label is generated by FedEx and FedEx customer services the package just like you shipped it without Reptster. If you have any questions about it or are unsure about anything with shipping please feel free to contact our customer service at 727-388-4633 or you can email me directly at [email protected].

Thanks,
David Young

Incorrect impression ?

I asked you out right, "if I have any problems/issues with a shipment, who would I call"?
You said, "I can't call my FedEx Rep, that I would have to deal directly with Reptster, if I was going to ship thru you, and that I couldn't mention any discounts that you provided to FedEx"

How long ago did you talk to him about this and such? Its possible that things could have changed a bit differently... especially now that things are seemingly chugging along quite nicely?

*shrug* just a thought. :D

Our conversation took place on May 17th.
If things have changed since then he hasn't said anything.
