    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What is a "Reputation Level", and what causes it to go up or down? I couldn't find it in the FAQ, and it doesn't appear to be your posts, because there are people who's is in the red. This is just bugging me. Could someone please shed some light?

Reputation level, or karma, goes up at various post count intervals, membership milestones, and when given by other members (this is done when one or more members think you have made a very good post). The amount your karma will change varies by the the reputation level of the giver (ie one with higher total points will make yours go up more than one with lower points). Until fairly recently, negative points could be given as well (for bad posts)...but that was being abused, so it was removed. People "in the red" may have gotten a lot of negative points (typical of trolls)...or they may have been suspended for various reasons - some types of suspensions result in an automatic drop in reputation level.

There are limits in place that regulate how much karma you can give in one day, how often you can give it to one person, etc.

Okay, that makes sense, but how do you add to someone's karma?
I think only paying members can give out karma... ???
Maybe it's just me but I only see the circle (that shows if someone is online or offline) and the report a bad post sign.

Matt,

It depends on your membership level. I don't think you can as I don't see no "coins" under your user name.

Regards

for an outline of the various membership benefits, and the corresponding membership levels, take a look at this page http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64541
The ability to give positive karma has been attached to the contributor member level for some time (I don't know exactly when)...you've had a change in membership status since you used to play with us Rana.
PS - nice to see your name on the screen once in a while :)
