    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Rescuing this poor boy, any help would be great

Getting a new rescue tomorrow, poor snake.

Tomorrow I will be bringing home another down and out bp. He is two years old and only 1 1/2 ft long. When I asked what he was eating, how often and the last time he ate the only information I was given was "He comes with a tank bedding a water bowl and a heat rock and eats live". I have one picture of him and it's not very good but by the looks of it my baby is a mammoth compared to him

that's him

I'm removing the heat rock as soon as I get him and he has his own heat lamp waiting for him, as well as two new hides. Since he is so small and hasn't eaten in who knows how long what do you suggest I offer him. Will his size/weight ever catch up or is he just going to be small? Any other suggestions, help will be greatly appreciated. I just want to get this boy healthy and happy.

The heat lamp isn't needed, he needs belly heat. I can't really tell how small he is but a rat pup should be good, possibly even weaned. His size and weight will finitely catch back up, the snake has been starved and hasn't grown. In a couple months with proper husbandry and feeding he should be a completely different snake. Also make sure he has a nice clean bowl of water that you keep fresh. Good luck with him!

With animals that haven't eaten in a while (or new babies), I always start with something smaller than I would normally give them. Then slowly work my way up to giving them larger prey items. I don't want to overload a possibly inactive/slow gut.
