    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Research Fail I guess

What makes a carrot tail a carrot tail? what is the diff between a snow & Albino? Bell... Enigma?! I have googled and have been reading my little heart out and all I ever seem to find are pictures:rolleyes:. I have visited some breeders pages and tried to educate myself and did infact learn a lot but I am still stuck. I started to just assume a carrot tail was any leo with orange on his tail?:eek: But then I come across this guy who is listed as a:

Rainwater Patternless Albino Leopard Gecko
PAF2_36_200.jpg

So this leads me to think that an Albino can carry the snow gene? but then would it not have to be listed as an Alibno het snow? I would give just about anything to understand the difference between all these guys and how to identify them. Can you have a normal carrot tail gecko? or do some breeders just toss names together:shrug01: (of course given what the parents are). Oie Vey I just gah *sits in corner frustrated*

First of all, figure out which genes are recessive and which are co-dom/dominant. Go to vmsherp.com and they have a whole page about leopard gecko genetics.
Now a carrot tail does have to have orange, but not just every orange tail is a carrot tail, it has to have about 30% orange, at least thats what I have heard.
Snow, albino and enigma are all different morphs. But there are three strains of albino:Tremper, rainwater, and Bell albino.
Albino can carry the snow gene, but not albino het snow. Snow is a co-dom morph, so it cant be het snow, but albino is recessive so it could be het for albino.
No in regards to having a normal carrot tail gecko, it reality I guess you could, but most carrot tails come from some from of hypo/super hypo morph of leopard gecko. And Ive heard most are line bred, so If two babies a male and female both have a high amount of orange on their tails, breed them together, and the babies will also have a high amount of orange.

Hope this helps some, ask any more you have.
Stephen

Thank you so much, I am going to read over that site right now. I kind of had a feeling it was going to have to do with genes etc but was not 100% sure. I will be sure to come and pick your brain again sometime/soon.
