    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am trying to either buy or build a new display cage for my young purple albino retic. I have looked at BoaMaster and Animal Plastics but a buddy of mine who is a machinist says he can build me a cage. I am looking at his supplier's website and am trying to figure out if I should get him to build one and if so what material do you guys like best? The PVC prices on his website seem high compared to already built cages. Any Ideas on where to get PVC sheets? I was thinking melamine but another buddy of mine says if I ever get mites they will bore into it and be a pain to get rid of, anyone else heard that? I know that building a cage has to be at least a little cheaper than buying one or else everyone would just buy one. Just looking for some direction here.

Thanks in advance,
Trey Coates

I am also planning on building my own. I live in New Jersey and I found two places near me that I can pick up PVC or ABS. Do a google search with your state and ABS sheets or PVC sheets.
If you take a close look at the animal plastics and repti racks cages, you will see that you can do the same thing yourself for cheaper.

Don't listen to your buddy, melamine is fine. plywood cages that are properly sealed also work well. Most of the Boamaster cages are melamine btw.

Melamine heats much easier than plastic cages if that's any concern.
