    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I overwinter my adult RFT in my basement. Last year it was an old cabinet piece laid on its side but this year I'm using a kiddie pool. I want to use a substrate this time. Last time I did without and it was a pain to keep the enclosure clean. Any suggestions? I dont want to use one of the reptile mulches because it will be too expensive to cover the floor even with a thin layer.
 
I think that the mulch would be the best thing to use personally, but alternatives include coconut coir and peat moss.
 
NOTE: coconut coir can harbor fungus (i use it to grow mushrooms) but peat moss will not (it has no nutrient value)

That being said coir is cheaper. DO NOT BUY IT at the pet store. go to your local hydroponics store and pick up 5kg for 20 bucks. That will last a LONG time
