• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Rhac Scenting?

Thanks again for all the helpful info I would like to keep in touch with all you Candoia lovers.
Cindy are your CB or imports?

also another question what is the proper pronunciation of Candoia?

Also one of my reptile buds on the east coast has just started working with a dwarf or pigmy mouse species so he has extra small pinkies to offer his neonate animals. That would probably really work well if the Candoia offspring are very small. I will have to find out what species those mice are. maybe start up a colony.

I don't know how to pronounce anything. I'm the weird chick at the shows spelling the names, lol.

Can you keep us posted on the dwarf mice? That sounds like an interesting project and would be helpful with neos the size of worms.

Yes, I go for Can-doy-uh as well, but then again I've only ever discussed them over forums, so I've never actually heard anyone else say it.....

I'd love to keep in touch with other Candoia keepers - I've been searching for others since I started few years back. The problem is that we are a small (but hopefully select!) group, so I don't think we're big enough for a separate forum. (I belong to one on another site and it's great but SLOW - a good resource but not exactly chatty).

Maybe we can agree which of the existing forums we belong in, and then just agree to always put "Candoia" in the subject line of new threads to so that we can find new posts easily?

First thing is to decide whether we are Boas or Arboreal Boas... Some Candoia are Ground Boas, some more tree-loving. Initially I started looking in Arboreal, but found the "Boas Discussion" forum moved more quickly and had more relevant general information, so that would be my vote...

And/or we could list each other as "friends" :)

Good idea with the post classifications. I find posts by Jerry Conway to be very helpful, on here and I think I had found some on kingsnake. I am actually surprised more people aren't into them. They're one of the "cutest" snakes out there!

Jerry has been very helpful to me too, and there's a lot of good info on that forum. It just moves SLOWLY. I think people are frightened off Candoia by this "Hard to feed" rep, but once you get past that I think they're a great snake. LOTS of personality! Check out my blog for some pics from Fiji.

Let's start posting pics in the Boa forum and get other people interested.
