• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Hey, folks -- lately, a Richard Porter, going under the business names of "Reptile Realms" and "Reptile Buyers Collective" has popped up near me in San Jose, CA. I can't find any info on the guy, no history or reputation. Has anyone heard of him?

Rick reptile realms

I have been dealing with Rick with the Reptile Realms for a little over 2 months. We have been doing some feeder swaps some of my bearded dragons and dubia for his silkworms. All my transactions with him have been flawless and his silkworms are great. Seems like an all around good business man.

I've seen "Reptile Realms' posting 'breeders wanted' ads on our local CL over the last month or so. Looks like they plan to open this summer, here's their current listing which is just announcing the shop.

If you want to get ripped off this is the place PayPal order never sent called him sent email and still kept my 26.00 don't buy bad business

I know Rich from CCHS, he also hosted the show last spring in Pleasanton. I don't have anything that takes insect feeders, but I know a few people who buy from him regularly and continue to go back to him. He's a great guy to hang out and talk with, and has been pretty regular at the shows around here so far. I'm sure more people will post business experiences with him. Once he gets into rodent feeders, I'll be going to him for sure.

I've purchased crickets by the 1,000 count from the collective. I think I've purchased the beginning of the week and they've shipped out early the very next week.

Can't say anything too bad about them, especially since there was a bit of an over count and not too many other critters than crickets in there.
