In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Rick Cremeans of Lancaster, OH-BAD, BAD, BAD!

Doesn't matter what the person did to that poor snake, threats like that are completely out of line.

agreed. Threats of violence are uncalled for. is going to jail for assault really worth what someone did to people you've never met on the internet? acting like bullies and thugs makes them look worse than Rick.

Just because you saw it as a threat doesnt make it so. I asked him to meet me to return the money for those people. If needed I could make it at his work or home... Im sorry you took it the wrong way not once did I say anything that would incinuate me causing him any harm.

I have NOT gotten my money back; I don't know when it was sent, or whether it was mailed via regular old "snail mail" or Express or whatever, but I have not seen it. I DO agree, though, that the threats or insinuations of threats need to stop. Trust me, NONE of you are as upset as I am about this, since none of you actually opened that box and saw and smelled what was inside, and with one or two exceptions, none of you have been out of any money on this, BUT I know it won't get anyone anywhere to threaten someone. I certainly do NOT want it to be seen as though I condone that in any way, shape or form. I have always stood by the belief that two wrongs do NOT make a right, never have and never will. Please do not PM or email me asking for Mr. Cremeans' address. If I need to provide that to anyone, it will be to the police who have jurisdiction over that area, but hopefully it won't come to that.

Ok well Im sorry for trying to help you out. I hope everything works in your favor again I apologize.

Just because you saw it as a threat doesnt make it so.

Just because you don't see it as a threat doesn't mean it isn't.

Let's recap...

Hey man I would have to STRONGLY suggest you make right with these people that you have fucked on faunaclassifieds. I have a buddy thats a skip tracer and I know where you live and will have him find where you work. I think we need to meet face to face. And if you ask ANY of the snake guys at the Columbus show Im not someone you want to cross. We have to many people here in Ohio that deal in herps to have you giving us a bad name. So email me back so we can set something up where I can pick up these peoples money and send it to them. Thanks in advance Damian

"I know where you live"

"Im [sic] not someone to cross"

If you don't think those are threats...well...I'm afraid I can't really help you.

As I said there was no mention of physical harm or otherwise in there if thats the way you or anyone else took it then Im sorry you see things that way..;)

Wow! That's a pretty bad story. I just stumbled onto this from someones post on another forum. It's total BS that someone would ship something like a snake in that box. Even worse to have it obviously suffer, die, and show up in the putrid condition it was in. Hopefully at the very least you get your money back and you did the right thing by spreading the word about this vendor.

It's hard enough to try and make a reputation for yourself in this business w/o someone screwing someone else on Kingsnake none the less. I do a lot of my business off of Kingsnake and to have someone like this, possibly non directly affect my business through his poor business ethics really pisses me right off.

And I totally understand the member who was trying to help through that e-mail. Just be careful because that definitely came off as a threat and even more so than that it's now logged in that guys e-mail box. I'd send him another one sorta explaining yourself and maybe even give a teeny apology (even though he doesn't deserve it) just to cover your ass. I'd hate to see you get in trouble over something like an e-mail. But like I said. I understand where you were coming from... Just don't end up like this guy -----------> :shootfoot

Out of curiosity. Has anyone checked with the Fish and Game department in that goofballs state? They might be interested to know that someone is taking native wildlife and shipping it across state lines? I would think that this could get this fella in so much trouble he'd be fighting to get out of it for a very long time.

I'm not really educated in Ohio law but he seems to deal in Florida species. Ironically, many are protected in Florida but clearly there are loop holes. I'm not sure Ohio will care about non native species but terrepene are sometimes lumped together in state policy regardless of subspecies locality. Florida won't investigate someone who is selling from Ohio I would assume.

I'm going to assume that if he hasn't made good with the folks on this thread by next week that he isn't going to.

While I appreciate the BOI effort, I would also love for the big herp classified sites to implement ratings and reviews so that, much like ebay, sellers could be qualified. Also their qualifications should be front and center with their classified posts. That would be effective imo. No vigilanty style justice, just honest community ratings and reviews for new and old buyers alike.

Just a thought.

Most of the animals he had for sale were either "exotic"(not native to North America)or were Florida animals, not native to Ohio. My snake was a Florida Green Water Snake, which is of course not native to Ohio.

As for the alleged refund that he supposedly sent on Aug. 18, it's now August 21 and there's still no sign of it. It doesn't take that long for even regular mail to get from Ohio to SC. I've sent bill payments all the way to Los Angeles, across the country, by regular mail delivery and it arrives within 2-3 days. I sent this guy his money order for $85.00, which was to include the price of the snake AND OVERNIGHT shipping, using Overnight Express Mail to ensure that he got it within no more than 2 days, even though the overnight postage is $17.00. I guess it's way too much to expect of someone like this to extend that courtesy and get me MY money back in the same timely manner.

In my experience, he does not seem to exhibit any connection with time as it relates to a customer. With that said, you may get something a month from now or never. Its really hard to assess what he thinks, particularly with the only post he's made referring to us as liars. I for one stayed pretty honest about my dealings with him and pretty unemotional.

If you ask me, his response only shows that he thinks he's done whats right and somehow we're at fault for stretching truths. For someone who isn't a long time seller known to people, it pretty much defines what type of seller he is and solidifies his reputation here. Only he can change this perception.

No money on this end either. He told me almost a week ago that he was sending out a money order, but I have seen nothing. I asked him at the time to email to confirm that it shipped, but of course I got no reply to that either. I'm giving it through the weekend, and then I think I'll give his local law enforcement a call and see what they have to say. I've been keeping the postal inspector informed so far, so I guess we'll see where this goes. I know it's not a TON of money, but I wish more people would really pursue rip-off artists and the bad seeds in this community so there was some more risk to their behavior.

Kris

Well, naturally the weekend has come and gone, and no money order. I don't think this POS could tell the truth if his life depended on it, yet he DARES to come on HERE and claim that I, along with the other people he's screwed, are lying about what happened to us, and wants us to think that he's a serious, legitimate businessman who really loves reptiles! This guy really takes the cake.

Sharon McKenzie

Hey Sharron if it means anything actions speak louder than words and I have also been spreading the word of this story. I'm sure I speak for everyone here when I say thanks for the heads up w/ this guy. Your story has not fallen on deaf ears.

This is all such a shame. I can only imagine what the snakes he currently has are living in.

I wanted to let you all know that this guy is posting under 'Richard - USA' now on Kingsnake.

I'm sorry but if he didn't resolve his issues and has now assumed a (slightly) different name, he's doubly guilty in my opinion. He is also using a new email address. (see below)

:NoNo: I won't be buying from him thats for sure and I wanted people to know that Richard is Rick Cremeans from Lancaster Ohio. See below.

Hope that is helpful and thanks for posting here. I read up on sellers before I buy and this helped me!

:yesnod:
