• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Someone on fb by the name of Ricky Duncan is offering to trade overnight shipping labels that will allow you to ship for free in trade for reptiles. Sounds fishy. When questioned, he went into the swearing rant and wouldn't explain how these labels work. Has anyone traded with him? Are these legitimate labels that you can use to ship overnight for free?

Before I go back to bed due to the flu ... gimme a break. Post his FB URL, email addy, phone number please, Steve.

I have tried so many times. No computer at the house and this phone doesn't want to cooperate with copying things. I will get that up tomorrow at lunch at work.

Well, the trade ad has been deleted in the 3 groups he posted in it. Looks like a scammer got caught and deleted the evidence.

This is him.

This is a good scam. I got hit similarly in the past. You use the label and get billed later on from the shipping company after two weeks go by it's determined fake... They bill you, the sender, and dude makes off. Boom bam. Scam! Fwiw only! Thanks for posting and getting into it with him Steve-O! No ban, prevented a scam, you Da man!

Check out his new ad on that group. Needs to sell an animal today to get gas money to look for his cousins boyfriend who is missing. More BS if you ask me.

Ricky Duncan scammed me out of $115 for a colombian rainbow boa he posted here on fauna. I sent the funds and never got the snake! He's a thief!! I talked to the police in Villa Rica, Georgia where he is from, they couldnt help me. I didnt post on BOI due to lack of proof on my part ( all communications were done by text, and I deleted them prior to becoming privy to his unethical behavior ). SO, BEWARE OF ANY DEALINGS WITH HIM!!!!!

Cool rich. Glad you did that. I was going to mention it to you but I have been feeling like crap all day... it's funny... If a member of my family was missing I would have it plastered all over fb... nothing on his page....

DO NOT fall for his scam. This was literally just posted on a BOI Facebook group. His labels are bs and dont work.

If there is anything that can be shared here to explain, that would be good. FaunaClassifieds Board of Inquiry is not affiliated with the BOI facebook group (and not everyone has facebook).
thank you

Sorry you got scammed.
Since I didn't lose any money with my dealings with Mr. Duncan I did not post a BOI. I felt it was inappropriate based on my "feeling" at the time.

BUT NOW.............

I also inquired about a leucistic pine snake he has listed on Fauna in Dec. My "scammer alert" went off right after his first response. First he wanted $80 delivered in the ad. Jumped the price to $110 stating he had a buyer at that price and would I match it. I declined. He then texted me that the $110 buyer fell through and would I pay $90 which I agreed to just to see how this would play out. He kept editing the price in his ad too. I asked if he was a certified FedEx reptile shipper and he responded "yeah..." but I had to explain to him the "hold at fedex location" option. He said he had to wait for shipping supplies before he could ship then requested payment. I stated I would pay on shipping day in full or give a down payment to hold till shipping day. He couldn't believe I wouldn't pay in full days ahead of shipping and said he has many people willing to buy it and that was the end of conversation.
Nice try Ricky!

Here's the ad and the beginning and end of our text conversation.

That isn't as clear as I would like when they're posted that close together...
