In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

RIP Dimebag!

Well, not too sure how many of you are Rock or Metal fans here on the forum, but I thought I'd go ahead and post this...

December 8th, 2004 will surely be amongst the DARKEST of days for the Metal industry as a whole, reknowned, legendary and a ONE OF A KIND guitarist was shot down while taking the stage beginnning one of their shows.

Damageplan, lead guitarist Dimebag Darrell (formerly of Pantera) was shot 5 (or 6 times depending on where you've read it) times at close range after a fan walked up onto the stage before the band started their set.

The fan muttered something (many fans couldn't hear what was said), then began shooting. After Dime fell to the ground, the fan then began shooting into the crowd... Killing three other members of the audience..

The gunman was also shot dead by local law enforcement...

This kind of a heinous crime is amongst those that one can never seem to comprehend! Why do people do the things that they do? No one will ever know in many cases... :(

My heart goes out to the family and friends of Dimebag, as well as the family and friends of the other victims.

God bless them all, and my thoughts and prayers are with them!

RIP Dimebag! We miss and love you!

Very, very sad. I knew him as Diamond Darrell. I met him several times at a club called "The Basement" in Dallas back in the early 1990's. Once my ex boyfriend and I went bowling with both Darrell and Vinnie Paul. Damn that seems like it was just yesterday but it was so long ago.

Darrell was a super cool guy, so cool that once he gave me a bracelet (black rubber barbed wire) he was wearing because I commented on how I liked it. I was a fan and he was being nice. I wish I still had it. He was just doing what he loved, playing rock & roll, living the life... What a tragedy...

Hi Kelli,

That is very cool that you've had the chance to meet Darrell and Vinnie in person... :) That's definitely going to be a memory to remember.

I don't know, it's just very, very unfair that some crazed piece of **** would walk up on stage (even if it was from the back) and shoot someone in the manor that he did...

You know, if the shooter wasn't killed himself, I'd be wishing he were. Pieces of crap like that are a waste of space, and don't deserve to be sucking up my oxygen... ! A complete and TOTAL waste of space!

Mind sound like I'm a sapp, but I don't care... Hold onto those memories Kel, that's what'll keep a Legend like Dimebag alive and kicking.

RIP - Darrell (Dimebag) Abbott! Keep up those massive metal riffs where ever you are!

RIP Dimebag, YOU were (are) an Inspiration to so many!

I'm still in a daze about this. As I said on a different thread, Dime was one of the reasons I picked up guitar when I was 14. I wanted to be just like him. I pale in comparison (that's an understatement) to his musical genious, but all along he was an inspiration. I went through some tough times and just listening to Dime shred up a solo (the solo in "The Sleep" from Cowboys from Hell comes to mind immediately) could make me feel so much better. I never met the man, but felt an instant connection to him as soon as I heard the opening riff to Cowboys from Hell...like I'm sure every fan did. He was a man that was bigger than life and maybe this world just wasn't big enough for him. All the greats, Jimi, Randy, SRV, Cliff Burton, Lennon, and Dimebag...there times came way too soon. My heart goes out to Dime's family and friends, especially Vinnie...I can't even imagine what he's going through.

Dime and Vinnie were always playing together, NOTHING could ever break them apart. They were Pantera, and they were Damageplan.

I wonder how Phil (Anselmo) is feeling right now. Two weeks before this all happened, an interview was published in a british magazine where he was quoted "Dimebag deserves to be beaten severely". I bet he's eating his words as we speak. I personally was not speaking to my best friend for the last 18 years (known him since I was 4), and called him yesterday because I don't want something to happen to him or something to happen to me and have me being angry at him. Had Dime not died, I wouldn't have made that call. It just goes to show that we can't let petty differences get between us and those we love, because the last time you say "**** you dude" might be the last time you say anything to them. And that just really sucks. I can't imagine how I would feel.

Dime, I know you're out there rockin' out with the greats...I don't believe in god, but I know you're spirit will never die, it'll remain alive in every single soul you touched, which number in the millions. I'll be drinking a "Blacktooth Grin" just for you tonight my brother. RIP Dimebag, you will be missed.

I should clarify, I've known my best friend for the last 18 years, and hadn't spoke to him (because of stupid, petty ****) for the last few weeks. The way I wrote it it sounded like I hadn't spoke to him for 18 years.

Here is a quote from SUPERJOINT RITUAL bassist Hank Williams III:

"It just ain't f****n right... Alcohol should have killed Dime, not a f****n piece of s**t worthless f**k with a gun trying to recreate the John Lennon's killing... This happened on the same day, if you didnt know... Dime will never die EVER!!! His style of guitar playing took metal to a whole new chapter in metal history."

It's great to see the metal community coming together like this to pay respect to a fallen hero...unfortunately Dime is no longer with us in body, but in spirit his song will always play loud and raw, just like he'd like it.

This world is so screwed up.

Im glad the bastard who killed dimebag is dead.Let's hope the scum rots in hell.Security wasnt doing its job that night. When they played in Peoria Ill back in the 90's I was a bouncer at an adult nightclub downtown.I had the privledge to meet the band and have a few drinks with them.Dimebag will be sorely missed.Bottoms up Bro!!!! Paul Yancick. :bandhead0 :bandhead0 :bandhead0 :bandhead0
