    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

RJ's Exotics inquiry

wow ,ive known rob since his very first store, i havent been to robs in a few years. at first he seemed to just misrepresent his animals a little bit , but he really went downhill from what im reading.it does seem strange that some of you people would do buisness with him after all the bullsh**. i recognize some of your profile pics as people commonly in there the last couple years. i stopped buying from him a long time ago, but i would go in to shoot the sh** and help maintain animals ,Rob always seemed like a good dude on a personal level , just not on a buisiness level.
 
Does RJ have a website

Hello everyone, I am new to fauna and I must say I like it alot better ks.com because if you post about breeders/people they say you are breeder bashing but this is very valuable information that people really need to know. Because some people in ther herp world are greedy and dishonest.

But what I really want to know does this RJ guy have a website so if I ever come across it, I will advoid buying anything from him(even crickets)
 
RJs substandard live feeders

Being fully aware that live feeder rodents are doomed to a short and often miserable life I also find that I have certain requirements for the health of the animals that I feed my pet red-tailed boa. I visited RJs and found that their prices for live feeders are lower than any others in the area. Large rats are five dollars. Of course small versus large is largely subjective to this company. I purchased two rats for my snake. One was dead by the end of a fifteen minute car ride. The second was dead the next morning after Sissy had refused it the previous night. I only know that it can't be healthy or normal for a feeder to be so depleted and sick that it perishes in a matter of hours. Later against my better judgment I purchased two small rabbits for my snake. Again the first was dead by the end of the car ride. The second had considerable health issues. It had respiratory infection, obvious malnutrition issues, emaciated, ect. When I confronted the store about this issue they replied that it was the "end of the batch" of rabbits and I got the last ones. He said he knew they should have been frozen but knew I needed them. Also he commented that the condition of the feeders is always terrible regardless of the place of purchase. He seemed to insinuate it was the nature of the business that the animals are weak, sick, and hurt. However I have since found an alternate source and can keep the feeders for as long as I need to without any health issues. Anyway they run a shady business and now I think they may be out of business, their phone has been off the hook and the place is locked up. Just my observations about a place that clearly has some real changes to make. I can say I was thoroughly displeased with their attitude, the appearence of the store and the animals, and the cavalier way they had of dealing with this situation. They made it clear that they felt it made no difference what I fed my snake and they told me to just throw the dead rabbit in with her, covered in feces and clearly not having died of any identifiable reason, feed that to my snake?

That's just disgusting Ivy! I wouldn't have used those rats or rabbits for feeders either. Any fool can raise a healthy rat for heaven's sakes, they've got to be one of the easiest keepers in the world. Obviously dirty conditions, overcrowding, unchecked disease and that sort of thing are going on if you've got feeder rats dropping like flies. Rats are a naturally hardy creature so I'd avoid any supplier that takes for granted that it's just par for the course their "product" is falling over dead before a customer can even get it home!

I breed rats for our collection and sell off my extras to a few herper friends. I follow a simple policy....this is the only thing our snakes eat so it should always be of the best quality...well fed, well hydrated and living in clean, uncrowded conditions. The snakes certainly deserve this quality of prey and to be honest the rats deserve this quality of care.

Well now that the weather has gotten better and I was able to feed these babies a couple of meals I e-mailed Rob to send him his snakes back and get me my money back. His first e-mail back he seemed to not remember who I was so I reminded him. I made it clear that I did not want these then and I still don't want them now. He told me he sent them as a mistake and I should ship them back when the weather got better. I hope that he makes the right decision and we can resolve this matter once and for all. Mike
 
To all monitoring this thread, I was at the Manchester, NH reptile expo this weekend, and I believe your friend Rob is opperating under a new name. P & J reptiles I believe. Saw them there selling a bunch of stuff. Good luck getting your money back, I wouldn't hold your breath.
 
Are you certain it was Rob?

Not that it would surprise me....they always "go out of business" only to pop up under a new name.....

unless he changed his looks fearing someone would see him and make a scene
i did see a couple of his low life loyal followers though talking up his big ufc fight career
three fights ,three times knocked out and a broken wrist

he'll take your snakes back sell them or kill them and you will never here from him again
trust me ,i have given him the benefit of the doubt too many times and got shafted every time

I was there also, and didn't see him anywhere.

When I was going in, there was a guy pleading with the door person to let him in for nothing "because he had an issue with Rob from RJ's and wanted to see if he was there."

They let him in.
 
I am ALMOST 100% sure if you walked in and went straight ALL the way to the back left corner by the load in door against the wall(next to "Reptile Addicts" tables). Unless there is a guy that looks exactly like him, I have seen him at these shows for years, and I believe it was him. They had Blue work shirts with white OE lettering saying P&J reptiles from NH. I will check the list of vendors and see if they are on it.
 
OK, thay are not on the vendor list, but I just e-mailed Bruce, the owner of the show, and asked him for their info. We'll see, if I am wrong, I appologize in advance to the vendor that looks alot like Rob.
 
i think you might be mistaken ,if you went in the only entrance and went all the way to the back on the left it was the catering section with cookies and soda
all the way to the right was some guy selling frozen mice and cage supplies

I did not get your email, but I can confirm that RJs Exotics did not have tables at the show. P&R Reptiles did have tables, but RJ's is not affiliated with them, and P&R have been vendors with us for several years.

Manchester Show and RJ's

I was at the show and didn't see Rob there either. In fact, my table was located in the area reserved by RJ's Exotics in previous shows. I would have liked to have met all of you fellow Fauna members that attended.
Kudos to Bruce for putting on a great show as usual! :thumbsup:
 
I am sorry for the missinformation, I truely appologize to the vendor that I believed to be Rob. My bad, I jumped the gun. Thank you Bruce for clearing up the issue. Once again, sorry for the bad info. Hopefuly Rob is done with the Business and no one else has to be on the recieving end of a bad deal with this guy.

I went by RJ's last "storefront", there were no signs on the door like before but there was a few small cages and junk outside the door. The trailer was also gone from the front of the complex. His former fighting school is now a car repair place.
 
RJ's Exotics - Don't Buy From Them!

Hello all,
I am a collector of amazon tree boas and a few chondros. I had a sick red baby biak sent to me by RJ's exotics that died the next day. It clearly had a respiratory infection - its nasal cavity was crusted shut and the poor animal was unable to even close its mouth all the way due to a solidified secretion that had built up around its teeth on the left side. I notified the owner immediately and sent him photos of the snakes mouth and condition upon arrival. RJ promised to supply me with a replacement. We have a series of e-mails stretching out over the course of the past 1 1/2 years in which he assures me that he will be getting more chondros at this show, that event, or the following week and that they would take care of me ASAP. THE WHOLE WHILE HE WAS SELLING CHONDROS ON KINGSNAKE.COM! After I brought this to his attention, he never again replied, nor made any move to rectify the problem. His dead snake still rests in my freezer and my $350 in his pocket. Small claims court and the FBI ICFD (Internet Crime Fraud Division) are my next steps.
Better luck to you if you decide to make a purchase through them!
