    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Im about to purchase a roach colony. The only problem is that Im not sure how many are in the colony. Supposedly there are 900+. So my question is, if any of you have any photos of your roach colonies, with the numbers in them for a reference "per say" for me or any advice, I would greatly appreciate it. The cost of the colony is $80 with the tub which is a good price as long as there is as many as there is supposed to be.Its a lobster colony and I know I can get 1000 for $90 shipped from an online source. Here are some photos they sent.

I'd imagine upon lifting the egg crates there'd be well over 1000 in there.
If you're concerned about not getting enough I would ask the seller take a picture with all the egg flats removed.

On a side note, why in the world would you want lobster roaches? lol

I agree with Kevin. Just a quick count on what is on the side of the container in the one photo I got a hundred easy.

As far as what is wrong with Lobsters? As long as you aare willing to keep an eye on the method that you choose to keep them in the container, I would say nothing. I personaly went with a non-climber that didn't reproduce as fast just for the piece of mind (discoids). I loved them and they worked for me very well with the small collection of leos I was using them with. Plus I was able to sell the extras to a local pet store to help with some of my expences.

But if roaches are something you want to get into it sounds like a great deal.

Thanks for the advice guys. I actually picked them up for $80 and after separating the nymphs there is well over 1k. Actually there is well over 1k nymphs.So i definitely scored. The only problem i have with them is that they smell horrible.Any advice on how to get the nasty crap from the bottom without trashing the tiny nymphs that are hiding in it?

If you really want to save your self alot of time and headache on trying not to throw away or squish your nymphs. Use a bigger tub i have a three foot tub and alternate the egg crates from side to side every few days to get the adults and nymphs to leave one side and then to the other. Scope up all the droppings and really never have many nymphs thrown away.
