In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just wondering if anyone has had any dealings with Robert Bladen. The name of his operation is US Global Exotics and he's located in Arlington, TX.

I'm thinking of buying some ornate boxes from him. It's not a whole lot of money, but hey money is money! Just trying to cover my bases! Any info on past deals would be appreciated.

Thanks

I would personally NEVER purchase ANYTHING from US Global Exotics. I have never bought anything from him, and I don't know anyone who has. I have however seen him purchase animals. I saw him in Daytona buying several species wholesale. Nothing wrong with that, but when he was buying baby turtles(spotteds, cooters, sliders, just to name a few) he was litterally picking them up by the handful, and dropping them into containers. Some were upside-down and burried, and there WAS water in with them. I feel that these practices should NOT be supported.

On top of that, in the Kingsnake amphibian classifieds, he posts requesting quantities of species that are becoming very sparce in the wild(hellbenders) and are not available captive bred. I don't have any problems with wild collection, as long as the wild populations can sustain the collecting. Also, hellbenders need very large enclosures and have very specialized care requirements. They do not ship well, and usually don't do very well in captivity-much less in the care that could be provided by any wholesaler.

Thanks for reading,

Actually US Global is owned by a New Zealander by the name of Jason Shaw. Jason until last year worked and ran Texas Animal Export. After he sold some prairie dogs infected with rabbit fever things didn't fair well. He dissolved his realationship with T.A.E. and left them holding the tab and reformed under a new name which is US Global Exotics. How I know this information is because I use to work for him several years ago. Personally in my opinion there methods of keeping and housing animals disgust me. Although hopefully things have changed since I worked there, but do to last years events it's doubtful in my opinion.

I chose not to do business with him because I had no replies to this post, except one, before I was ready to make the purchase. The one reply I did have was through an email to me, so I guess the person who sent it wanted to remain ananomous in the post. I hope it's not against the rules, but I'm going to post the text of his email (less his name) here.

"I used to deal with him when I worked at a pet store. He dealt with ALOT of animals. He has since went out, and is now where you found him. I haven't dealt with him presently. Back then he was a nice guy. But most of his animals were imports. So alot were questionable. We didn't have a real good mortality rate with them. I don't know how he is doing now. Maybe his quality is better, but we did get some nice animals at times. So it might work out, hard to say. Hope whatever you do works out."

Justin, I don't know if you remember me, but I was looking for some Ornates from you about the same time. You ran out before I decided to buy them. If you get some of the yellow heades males at a good price :) I may still be interested.

Thanks,
Anthony Bova

We emailed US Global on a few occasions requesting a current pricelist and they failed to respond. We stopped trying, their correspondence is simply lacking.:(
