I was encouraged to come here as someone that's actually purchased three chameleons from Robert Nichols.

I purchased a pair of in 2012, I purchased as sibling pair of Nosy Mitsios that Robert had imported from Canada. They were from Chameleon Nation and sired by Kryptonite and were about 1 year old. They were the only captive bred Nosy Mitsio available in the U.S. at the time, and I paid him $1200 for the pair and drove over 6 hours each way to pick them up and avoid the stress of shipping. I was really excited to try to find unrelated male or female and breed them, and Robert said and I talked about how hard it was to find other Nosy Mitsio, but he said it would be a shame not to breed the male -- Mojito -- and that he would be interested in the babies if I could pull it off.

I could not find any other Nosy Mitsios for sale. The only others that came into the country were used to create other breeding programs, so I eventually sold the male and traded the female, for a small profit over what I paid for them. I sold them with the same information Robert had provided (and believe me, we went over the details more than once, considering the money and time I was putting into them).

There was no bad experience for me at all at that time -- just paying a lot of money for the only year old CB Nosy Mitsio pair in the country -- and it was not Robert's fault that I could not find any other Nosy Mitsio to breed.

Later, I bought a beautiful Nosy Faly male from Robert, that he said he'd produced (not imported). The transaction went fine up until the day I received by new 'boy'. I opened the box to find two females. It turned out Robert had shipped my male to another customer that ordered females, and sent that customer my male. Luckily the other customer was only a couple hours away, and willing to drive to me so that we could trade the animals that Robert had sent to the wrong addresses. Robert blamed the mix-up on Fedex.

Many months later, I heard that Robert told other people that he believed the Mitsios he sold me were in fact crosses from Canada. He never informed me of that new revelation, and never offered to fix the fact that I had paid over $1K for crossed animals worth hundreds at most. I had already resold them, as pure. The new owners contacted me once they started hearing Robert say they were using crosses he imported as part of a Nosy Mitsio breeding project. Apparently Robert also said that they had been sold to me as crosses. This was not true, and put me in a difficult spot.

So, I spent around $2K on animals from Robert Nichols. I eventually learned two were crosses that he was reselling as pure to recoup his costs, and the other -- while healthy and beautiful -- had a big shipping headache, that could have been much worse.

Okay I've read through this thread and it is pretty clear that Rob does go out of his way to harass and insult people for some reason. I have to say that if I was interested in chameleons I would have quit any group where he was a member and I certainly would choose to not do business with that person and those associated with him.

I don't think I've ever had any interaction with you but the statements about stuff and the barely veiled taunting wouldn't make me comfortable in doing business with you. I'd probably be very hesitant to make the transaction. I get that you are defending yourself but asking the people your fighting with to keep posting is pushing it in my opinion.

I also have to say that there has been statements regarding proof from both sides that still haven't been provided. As an example, the statements by Jim that indicate that Rob still has moderator functions has to be proven.. Another poster (Joshua) provided a screen shot of members (see http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1825567&postcount=10) but that doesn't indicate if Rob's status had changed recently or not.

If as Katie stated there is a no deletion policy in that group, it should be easy to grab some screen pictures to prove that Rob was "in charge for a brief period of time" or "asked not to behave in that manner". In short there are a lot of allegations being made about what is happening over there that has yet to be shown to be true.

Sincere apologies if feedback on my actual business dealings with Robert Nichols are off topic for this specific thread -- they could be in a Bad Guy post instead. But, I believe my experiences with him to be illustrative of his character, and relevant context given the behaviors detailed here, and how his justification has been around trying to highlight something he himself has none, apparently with no shame (selling crosses, making amateur shipping mistakes, not taking responsibility, etc).

But, I'm not a member of the Facebook group in question, and have not ever been harassed by Robert (though I have seen attack many other people on forums and in other facebook group before his multiple accounts were banned)

I'll attach some proof that Nichols is not a moderator and of the discussion where Chrissy addressed the behavior. I am not sure that any other information I provide will help, as I feel like there are too many things going on in this thread. I am here to defend the negative things said about CGW, as the invitation was extended for someone to do so. CGW's name has been attached to the title of this BOI, which is what CGW would like to defend. It seems unfair that someone can attack a group because of one of it's members, but I suppose there is no way for us to fix that here, even if we provide evidence that Robert Nichols is not a moderator.

This is what happened in "CGW" when another of Robert's customers tricked him into giving an honest opinion on the animal sold to him by Robert Nichols, based on a appearance.

I do not believe Robert was an admin at the time.

Whoever has hacked my account has gone great lengths in an attempt to make Robert Nichols look bad.

For anyone really trying to figure this out, it explains why you kept an animal beyond the extended guarantee that you probably should have returned. You wanted success, and I understand that. But not I, nor anyone, provides a guarantee that the customer can change at their whim. I extended it for you. You now admit such too. The Faly cost you $375. Not $500. BTW.

I hooked you up with a free $200 animal where I owed you nothing.

David. I know that it sucks when animals die. When they arrive and appear unhealthy. WC's are very prone to immediate issues. But you have to be prudent. You are responsible to work within the agreed upon TOS. Which I extended for you because you seemed new, and I know the passions at work. You were very dedicated, and sincere. I believe you still are.

You made a mistake. And it ended up costing you, and me, about $200, the latter as I attempted to mitigate the loss to you, where I owed you nothing, and I doubt anyone else would have helped you. Be responsible for your choices David. I do not think you a bad person. I have seen you post many times about your love and care for these animals. And your successes. You have some stunning critters now. But own your failures as well. Good luck.

your right it wasn't $500 ,it was 375+50 shipping =425+ 50 for the shipping of the faly banja so it was 475$ and alot of more time and money to take care of
sick faly. I would of never tooken a cross to replace a wc faly..
