In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

This is the second time I have had something like this happen recently. Someone placed an order with a Miami, Florida address, the email address is bogus and the phone number is as well. I didn't try running the credit card info but I suspect it will either be declined or be stolen.

When I called the phone number to verify the order, the woman on the other end said she has gotten several phone calls from people looking for a "Robert" but often with a different last name. All were in reference to credit card orders being placed.

Here's the address info I got:

Robert Todak (username was ayahku)
710 NE 72nd Terrace
Miami, FL 33138
[email protected]

I doubt anyone does this, even if the credit card charge does go through, but beware of shipping to any address to Miami, FL without verifying the recipient. I suspect that had I run the charge and it went through, and then shipped the animals, eventually the charge would have been disputed from the real owner of the card.

Wish I had kept a copy of the previous time something like this happened. Might have given some clues if any info was the same on both order forms. I'll look, but I believe I deleted it once I determined it was bogus.

Well heck, I DID find that order record.

And interestingly enough, the SAME name and address was used. That previous order was placed on 09/29/06. Email address used at that time was [email protected].

The phone number (305-756-5256) is also the same, although it appears to be bogus as well. I did call that same phone number for that previous order, and got the same reply from someone at that time that they had gotten quite a few calls under similar circumstances.

Difference credit card info was provided, however.

Now this is pretty interesting. There actually IS a Robert Todak in Miami, but with a different phone number listed. I have called this person and left a voice mail, so I'll see what is going on....... I think whoever it is needs to be aware that someone is using their name and address under rather shady circumstances.

Sorry, man, but you should read the RULES of this site.... it states that your FULL NAME has to be on the bottom of every post or it might get deleted!!.... Get with the program, or we might have to report you!!.... lmao

MERRY CHRISTMAS RICH!!

Were you signed in? Only registered users can view that info.

That's pretty messed up, Rich. I guess most people don't expect you call the fake number they gave you and just email the shipping/order info.

Old age, Neil. The mind plays tricks on you.

Merry Christmas to you, too, pardner....

I'm not entirely sure if it's the same type of situation or not~ but recently my credit card information was stolen. We were still in possesion of both credit cards on the account~ so it has to be that the number was stolen. We are not sure how it happened~ but the thief was in possession of our credit card number and my husbands first and last name. We know from contacting one of the vendors that they attempted to purchase from that the thief was using our TRUE street address as the "Billing address" when attempting to purchase, and using VERY CLOSE to our true telephone # (last two digits were tansposed). The best we can figure the thief looked my husbands name up on the internet to get our current street address and phone #. We have the address in Massachusetts where the thief attempted to have $1200 of boat equipment delivered to as well.

We gave ALL that info to the credit card company (capital one)~ who apparently could care less. Because only $875 of charges actually made it through onto my card the card company has simply issued me a new card and taken the $875 off my account. They did not want or care about the address where the thief attempted to have another order delivered.

Pisses me off. I wanted someone arrested~ or at least beat up!! The credit card company doesn't care. They got their money back from the vendor (who happens to be in Europe somewhere)~ and apparently no one cares that this thief actually got away with $875 using MY information! The address I have is probably bogus~ an empty building or something.......but someone at the credit card company should have at least ACTED like the wanted the information and they were going to do something about it!

Could be a similar situation. Whoever your snake seeking credit card thieving order maker is may just be so used to getting away with it that he just won't give up. Why should he? The vendor (you) are the only one who will be out of luck~ apparently no one will chase him down!

Well, it seems you're BOTH right!!.... I wasn't logged in (due to a short power outage we had yesterday), and I'm so old I should be breaking a hip pretty soon!!.... lol

Cheryl.... Now you know why I stopped taking credit cards.... after that fiasco with Kim Felts and her deadbeat husband, I had enough!!.... Glad you got your money back, anyway.... and you're right, someone SHOULD "beat him up".... Go get em tiger.... lol

AHAHAHAhahahahAHAHAHAHAhahahahAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahahAHAha

Yeah, sure that was the ONLY reason.

I'd STILL like to see a copy of the letter you said you had from your credit card company allowing you to process the credit transactions of other businesses through your terminal, indeed I would.

Both of you, cut it NOW. Go hijack someone else's thread. I won't say this twice...... :reddevil:

Also, he is at the same address you posted.

It would seem odd that it wouldn't be the same person, if you are shipping to the same address.
