In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello.

I am not happy at all, writing this post. In fact, I'm disappointed as hell. I am new to the world of buying reptiles online (I only bought locally before this), and am disappointed in that I'm writing this. To start: I researched my sellers for two months before I made the jump to buy. This may not be long enough, but that's beside my point here. I read a lot of good on Mr. Winger here on the BOI and loved his prompt, helpful replies. In fact, I have no complaint of his customer service up until the end. He replies fast, answers all questions, understands when you ask a lot of questions. I even lost one of my part time jobs and had to back out of 3/5 of the geckos I had originally requested to buy and he was very understanding about this hard time. Anyway...on to my point. I bought a Redstripe baby Leopard Gecko, and I feel that I did not get the right gecko. The head patterns and neck patterns are completely different, for this small gap in age. I understand that these change as the gecko grows, but by examining photos of time lapse Leos, I can still pick out patterns over the course of a year. The photos I am posting are, if I remember, at most, a month or two apart. I tried expressing my concern, to be answered with a one sentence reply. I asked for photos, and was told there weren't any. I also told him that I enlisted the help of other Leo breeders and he said he didn't care. He said that I could get refunded for the Leo ($50) if I returned it ($42-60). What would be the point? I would be out that money and have no gecko! Plus, the little guy is still skittish from being shipped! I will attach screenshots of emails, and Leo pictures. The one I WANTED has the brown band going across his shoulders and the squiggly head pattern. The one I got has a white head band that connects to the line down the back. The carroting is off on the tail, too. I am fine with keeping the baby, but I feel that I should have gotten what I bought.

This is my case. I have many, many people backing me up on the Facebook Group: Feedback and Inquiry for Reptiles. These people are reputable. I know he has good feedback here, but I am disappointed and wanted to say something. The "solution" was basically a smack in the face/hogtie. I do not wish for there to be rudeness or low blows. I am simply stating my case for people to see and be informed.

On the BOI you need to provide all the names of who you're referring to.

It says in the title of the OP that it is Bob Winger. Without taking individual sides, I do not believe that the two gecko pictured are the same animal.

The geckos are not the same. The seller should do everything in his power to make this right, even if that means emailing a return shipping label and allow buyer to pick out a new gecko of equal value to have shipped back to her at no cost. Seller obviously made a mistake. It is physically impossible for the white neck band to ever change course and morph into a different direction. It can fade away of grow/reduce spotting but never ever change course. Same with the head patterns. They can get spotty or disappear but never change course. A bandit doesn't become a hm or a four eyes. I won't list all the uneducated breeders from the Facebook post because I see some of them are live on this thread so they can speak up if they want their decision set in stone for the world to see this time. I was horrified at how many people said to take a loss on this. Tons of shady "breeders" out there.

Nope. No way in hell that those are two pics of the same leopard gecko. My wife and I have raised up a fair number of them over the years, and they just do NOT change patterns in that manner.

Asleigh contacted me a few month back about buying a few geckos she finally settled on 5 geckos after she did her name was put on there tubs i did not accept a deposit i told her i would just hold them. I think i held them for around 6 weeks then the last week before she was suppose to pay she backed out of 3 of the 5 ok no big deal...

i shipped the 2 remaining she wanted the day he got them she said all way good the day after she emailed me saying she thought one was not the one she wanted.

the redstripe she pic is in fact the one i shipped the pic was at 4 weeks old the gecko is now almost 3 months and it did in fact change that much as you can still see the break in the back of the head band .

i offered her a solution by refunding her money and she refused i actually emailed her again and got no responce back and found out about this thread from another member on fauna not by her.

i am not going to get into a big debate on this my offer still stands if she does not want the gecko.

Bob,

I don't know anything about geckos. I don't know how much they change.

Is it possible at all you made a mistake? You did have multiple redstripes up in that time period.

Just so I understand the picture in post #1 is the current image of the gecko.

The picture in post #2 is picture you sent her a couple of months ago, correct?

As I said I'm not familiar with the changes they undergo but this redstripe you posted back on 5/25 looks closer to the one she has now than the picture you sent her.

So, I'm just asking is it possible you mixed the two?
