    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

considering the way the thread had taken a turn i decided to post AND in it yes those are true. THEY are MY EXPERIENCES... thats what ya get for living in the country on a farm and not the bright lights big city wanna be whatever. i have had to palpate a mare a pregant one to make sure the foal was positioned right, from finger tip to elbow. I also had to help dislodge a bone stuck in my dogs rectum at 11 pm with NO emergency vets in the area i did this over the phone with the assistnce of my vet. EXPERIENCE... and the quoate about russ, thats true slim fingered lady dr.
at least i do not talk all goody goody in one forum and get completely nastey in another like people want to hear about your sexual conquest and how you got miles on ya and how great you are... makes ya look like a well... you fill in the blank... you seem so desperate too. flirts with just about anything with a heartbeat (married or not) yeah that says allot about your morals. these are my experiences and opinions of what i have read. i think reciently allot of people are begining to see you in a new light... keep it up your followers are dwindling... oh by the way i do not care if you give me negative point, this isnt a popularity contest like some seem to think.

well yeah since you were handing out points im not gonna kiss bum, even if you didnt.. at that time thats about the best ovile branch i could give... and i guess some of those words hit home je ne sais pas

Well, I feel like this is my fault since I put in my auction title that my auction ends in ET since thats my time zone and that probably prompted the question of auctions ending at different times for different people instead of them all ending in CT. Sorry if I caused any problems and I can adjsut my title to refelct a CT ending if that helps.

My auction is set for PST cause that is MY time. If people don't like it, they can kiss my ass. :bleep:

I was under the impression all this was for the Hammacks.

I am quite honestly disquested by this entire thread. I tried to play it off by joking around but some people would rather wallow in the mud. :hot:
 
Mike, as you can see from the original thread, it was resolved by allowing people to choose whatever times they wished, but times that were not specified would default to CDT.

Yes, I am aware of that.

I just can't believe this thread was even started. There are so many other things that people could concentrate on at this time. I for one can think of a few issues that out weigh this petty squabbling by 100 fold.
 
hmmthis is no ones fault... just how i felt about luciles post... no one at fault just thought it was ermm ummm well not real smart not to know your own time zone

agreed it should have been taken care of in private hey but its luciles forum and she can do what she wants and i guess she feels more protected here... maybe its about bringing the attention of others to herself and her forum, rather selfush if you ask me but of course thats my humble opinions

Well, I still managed to screw it all up since I was putting CST instead of CDT in my auctions. Maybe we should just go by London or Tokyo time. Wait no, how about a world clock feature as a banner at the top of the forum? lol.


Anyway, I think it might be wise for the rest of us to return to our regularly scheduled programs and let this thread sink. Emotions have been running a little high lately, and it's human nature to occasionally displace those feelings and project them elsewhere. Let's just focus on what we do best and move on. Scabs will never heal if you keep picking at them, they'll just continue to itch and bleed, eventually leaving a bigger scar.

Don't even get me started! If it weren't for my feelings for Kelli and Mike's Mom's situation, I would tell you exactly how I feel about Lucille posting this thread, and her motives behind it. Robin already knows how I feel about her role in this.
 
Joe, I hope you mean this as a joke.

I don't think that anyone is going to post auctions ending times based on any military time chart.
