In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Can i give 6 stars?
My last order with RodentPro included some xlge mice, after looking at them I felt they were really no larger than the lge mice in the same order.
Not mad at all just perplexed I shot them an email Monday morning about 9.30am.
I was absolutely stunned to recieve a personal telephone call by their sales manager at 11am same day. He apologised and explained just how the weighting system works on xlge and lge, gave me a refund on my xlge paid price and added a note into their system that I like my xlge on the REALLY lge side!
In todays age to get customer service of this kind with all the orders RodentPro must deal with is simply outstanding!
Very well done!

As I have said before, I can only relate to MY experience!
No two people are EVER going to have the same experience!
This was a post of just MY recent experience, really has zero relevance what may have gone before etc.

Kevin,
I think the comments made by Steve were more to point out to you the type of business you have given your money to, Just in case you were not aware ahead of time.
And, of course the added value of bringing attention for all who may have missed that thread previously.

That may well be but the point of this is to relate your OWN experience yes?
If you or other ops have their OWN BAD experience then it is up to them to make their point
I have no issue with ANYBODY adding their comments good or bad to this thread, it does not change my experience SO FAR with them in the slightest!
Which is the whole point of the exercise I believe.....

Not attacking you Steve but that post was 3 years ago. People screw up and change their ways. I have never had a problem with them either...

EXACTLY Mark!
My business has made some pretty big oops along the way but you have to move on and improve.
Obviously things could change either way at RodentPro but as I see it right now I was very impressed
Thats all I am saying, its a snapshot right now, not 3, 2 or even 1 year ago but MY experience at this point of time.

Don't care how long ago it was. They only acted to correct the situation when they were forced to. That was a big screw up and I refuse to ever deal with them again. Not to mention their quality is severely lacking when compared to other companies. Night and day difference.

Please share the quality differences if you will, all my rats, mice, and rabbits have been excellent from RodentPro right down to the packaging. I'd be interested to hear the differences. Thanks

Without naming other companies (as this thread is for Rodent Pro alone), I have had other suppliers package rodents more efficiently. I generally get 2-3 orders of frozen mice and rats from Rodent Pro a year, amounting to anywhere between $600-800 annually. The primary reasons Rodent Pro gets my continued business is because their website makes it easy to maximize product placed into a single box, in addition to cheaper shipping rates than some of their competitors.

However, the rodents I receive are sometimes not placed neatly in each bag (e.g. back to back). This results in broken tails, broken feet, and sometimes multiple rodents are frozen together. It's a 50/50 chance of getting a bag that is neatly packed. I've had perfectly packaged rodents and sloppily packaged rodents in the same shipment before. In all honesty, another rodent supplier is my favorite in terms of quality and neatness, but shipping costs preclude me from ordering from my preferred business. Rodent Pro's quality has been satisfactory enough for me to continue using them to supply my rodent needs, but there is some room for improvement with their packaging.

I've been buying from them for over 10 years at least and never had a problem ; rodents have always been clean and packed perfectly. Never had an issue with customer service , either. But I do agree they should have alerted all their customers about the infected rodent problem.

The only gripe I have is the same with all the rodent distributors t is the size of the rodents , all way smaller than they were in the past.

Being an old timer at this stuff , I remember what a 'real' medium rat was .... it was something a pine snake ate ONE of at a meal, no more. These days , whether they came from Rodent Pro , Mice Direct, etc , a pine snake has no problem putting away two or three 'medium' rats. But like I said, that's all the rodent suppliers not one or two.

I agree with Jim on the size thing. Our mediums are no less than 135 grams and no more than 160 grams. Most are 145 - 155 grams when we cull them.

I am happy with my current supplier but I do have a question about RP. Do they breed all their own stock or are they supply rodents they received from unknown sources?

I have mixed emotions over RP. I ordered from them in 07/08 and again this past year. I have not had a issue. However, early this year i purchased higher end animals and spoke with the breeders i made the purchase's from. RP came up and got into a discussion in regards of the past history with that Co.

So, all tho i had no problems and did not have any snake pissing out of both ends, I decided to make a purchase else where to avoid ANY future problems- if any of the rumors i heard and or read on this site was true...........

M.

This is what the orders look like from my current supplier.
After 12 years of RP, I dropped them. The disease was the final straw.
I was getting tired of it being a crap shoot. I would get piss covered rodents, broken rodents, crap covered rodents, substrate mixed in the bags with them, and some stunk so bad after being thawed I tossed them.
I get spotless clean rodents now.
That's what I mean by quality. RP does not have the same quality. Do I pay more? Yes. But I have no problem paying more when I see the night and day difference in the order.

I know who your supplier is Steve! I use the exact same one and it is the only one I will ever use again. The shipping is the same from either company for me because of my location and their quality of packaging blows out any other competition. Hands down has my business.

I think I know too. I did order from RP once before and I was surprised that for the shipping costs the rodents were not vacuum sealed. I probably will not be placing any other orders from them.

They have been reselling lab rodents for years. That is why some bags in the very same shipment reek, and have missing parts and other bags look great. If you get what they produce you will be happy. When you receive a box or two of the lab grade stuff you will not be pleased at all.
