    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING OR TRADE ANYTHING WITH HIM.

I was doing a trade with him, NOT successful in ANYWAY! I didn't ship the herp i was trading as i don't trust anyone and i told him i needed a tracking number before i would ship anything as i have never done business with him before. I sure will never again either, and i just want you all to be aware as well not to deal with him.

He sent my snake UPS ground! I still have yet to get it as it was shipped 4/2/08 and will not be estimated to arrive till 4/8/08. He will NOT respond to ANY of my messages. It's very sickening how someone thinks it's ok to ship an animal over a weeks period of time. Now granted i understand there is a possibilty it will still be alive, but there are only 40 hour heat packs, nite temps in PA have been about 27-35 at most which is WAY to cold for snake anyways, and the heat pack i am SURE there is none haha. So i am more then likely getting a dead snake that should have been OVERNIGHTED like any other normal person would have known!

Do you have the emails between the 2 of you?
Has he responded regarding using ground shipping?
 
It wasn;t emails it was pm and i only have the one with the tracking number onit, i always delete them all which i guess i really shouldn't do. LOL

No i have gotten NO response from him since he sent the tracking number and that was 2 days ago.
 
I just looked up his My Space page and he is a very poorly educated teenager. The odds are that he doesn't know any better than to ship ground.

Yea i knew he was a teenager, but i have delt with some in the past that were actually mature! haha There are bad apples everywhere though!

I spoke with UPS at about 11 am this morning. It is on a semi truck in route to PA but will not be delivered till 4/8/08 is expected date. Now that is the "expected" date she said it could get delayed or take longer as it is on a GROUND truck!
 
Brizzy, is there any reason (from the point you became aware that this was a life threatening situation for this snake) that you have not requested of a UPS rep that this package be flagged and held at the next nearest hub to be returned back to the sender?

With 4+ days left to go in transit, I think its time to see what you can do to stop this shipment in its tracks.
 
I don't believe you mentioned what kind of snake is being shipped. If it was a colubrid you might be okay. I certainly was a piss poor way of shipping. Besides being against UPS policy, everything should be sent next day, like you said.

Did you tell UPS that this was a live animal and it needs to either be stopped and sent back to the sender immediately or forwarded to you via air frieght ASAP so it doesn't die?
 
Yes i actually have asked them when it arrives in PA to call me, that i would drive & get it! They said because it's in transit and on a semi truck it could arrive in PA tom, or Monday, so i said if i didn't hear anything By 10 am tom i would call back and see where the truck was so i can get it at the hub. So i still have to wait and see and that is still 3 days in a darn box!

Yes they said it's on the semi truck and they CAN"T do anything till it arrives in PA. Which i already said above i will be picking up once it's in my state!

Yes he was notified when i left a message on his phone which he never returned my call either! I said to him i would be calling again today which i did and again no response!
 
I just called UPS again to see if the truck is still in transit, They said they can't do anything till it stops and has a destination scan, so until the info says destintion scan, i can't even go pick it up, which the lady said could be not till the 8th i said, "well the women i spoke with earlier told me that it was expected for delivery on the 8th" she said" NO it's only to be at it's destination spot" which is the UPS Hub, This is outta control! So i am checking this darn number every hr to see if it says destination scan haha i want to go pick this up as soon as i can! POOR thing i really hate people sometimes!

May I ask you, did this kid provide you with any references or did you even ask for any? Did you two discuss shipping and your shipping methods prior to consummating the deal?

I'm not saying you are at fault, but certainly you are both responsible for this animal as you both did engage in this transaction. I guess what I mean is....you were completely aware of how to register a complaint about this guy on the BOI, but yet I don't see that you made an inquiry on this guy on the BOI to see what you might be getting involved in. I did a search on his name here and came up with nothing. I did it on a few sites and came up with nothing. Is nothing better then something to you? I certainly would have at that point started an inquiry here to see if perhaps someone reputable could vouch for him.

Again I'm not saying you are at fault, but in all honesty if you really weren't more interested in just trading off what you didn't want for something that you did want and put that same time and effort into identifying who you were actually dealing with you may not have even reached this point of disappointment.

I'm not measuring responsibility here....but you both are indeed responsible if this animal dies to some greater and lesser extent.

Good post Chuck. I might add that any time I've ever shipped, or had snakes shipped to me, we've discussed things like; when's a good day to ship? how are you shipping? When can you be home etc.
 
Smiled when I read both your post Chuck, and then couldn't agree more with Kevin's thoughts. This is an unfortunate situation for all involved, man, woman, and beast.

Brittany, I guess that I "feel your pain", but now have to take you to task. My biggest issue is your thread title. Or that this is even a thread here. Roger did something that many of us would say is "stupid", although I have to chalk his actions up to enormous inexperience (yes, that is mild). I see no evidence (yet) that he is "bad", or did anything that shows a lack of integrity. Lack of common sense ? Yup. But he will learn. I fully endorse the opinion that you must share some fault. He's a kid, and you "assumed" he knew what he was doing. Been there, done that, and as Ken noted, a bit of pro-activity on the part of the more mature party may have saved the day ! I am not blaming you, but am only showing how your standard towards Roger may be a bit unfairly applied, as seconded by how you feel reading my words, and those of Chuck and Kevin. We bring wisdom not found in three "spring chickens", for we cetainly are not ... maybe the Three Stooges :). Anyway, the snake is in peril. Roger stands to pay for his error, in that he will end up with nothing. Everyone will be frustrated. I think your thread title was hasty, although hopefully you will get some advice, Roger will learn, and others will benefit as well.

I truly don't wish to make her feel bad or feel at total fault, but it would have been nice to see her post something that I could accept as being partially responsible and remorseful for not clarifying with her trading partner those obvious and essential things that you noted.
 
Yes we are both at fault i agree, But i did discuss all that, it's not my first person that i had to deal with on their first time shipping. I ALWAYS stress overnight priority and i explain everything in detail. He just like completely ignored everything i said to him and did whatever he please anyways, so it was a waste of my time basically!

I never really inquire about anyone, as i know there are always risks of dealing with ANYONE on the internet, but that is what i have to deal with is taking that chance. I have sold, trade, and bought many reptiles from many people on the web, and i have had several issues, but NEVER with anyone shipping a herp ground, or even thinking about it. My assumption, yes just my assumption because i have not gotten any response from him in 2 days, is that he just took it to ups and asked what was the cheapest way to ship, and that was that. I don't think he said anything to them about live animal or anything, as it is against policy to ship snakes, through them. Again that is just me guessing.

I really wish he would return my calls or a message at least just to let me know what he was thinking about all this. Did he even think about the snake? Did he even care? He responded to me each day within a few hours everytime i sent a message to him, like i said he hasn't returned my calls or PM's in 2 days, so i think he had these intentions all along, that he was just going to try and get a free herp outta the deal. Sorry but i am not that stupid and i specifically told him what he needed to do, and what was required! It just really sucks not for me really just for the poor snake!!
