    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I love the Roomba. Not because they actually work. Mostly because of a strip from Achewood, where cats re-enacted famous scenes from films on them, then Roomba’ed away at the end of the strip. But apparently Roombas have another useful function: they kill deadly snakes.

One of my old roommates had a Roomba that he ran. Not really because it worked, mostly for the conversation, because our floor still managed to wind up looking dirtier than a whore’s taint. Also, it gives you hipster points.

Apparently, world-wide the Roomba has quite a reputation, as well. Because they sell them in the Middle East. You know what else they have in the Middle East? Deadly snakes.

In Israel, snakes may be one of the only things threatening the lives of the people in the day-to-day. So when Efi Frida decided to buy a Roomba and run it to clean up after their kids and small children, he never expected it to suck up a deadly viper, Vipera palaestinae. But he was understandably happy, as he told the newspaper Yediot Acharonot.

We were very lucky. If the snake would’ve hid in the house and bitten one of the children it could have ended badly.

Nobody wants dead kids. Especially the people at iRobot, who, after hearing the story, sent the man’s family a remote control.

I see the Israeli news reporters are idiots when it comes to reporting encounters with 'deadly vipers' as any US reporter. They post a picture of a little girl and her kitten along side a picture of the dead baby viper. Don't get me wrong I don't really want vipers crawling around my house either; but lets report the news and don't over do it. This is the most common venomous snake in Israel so it's not like it's the first one anyone has ever found.

I bet Roombas are selling like hotcakes; only 739 shekels for a Roomba.

I have a Roomba and it does an OK job, where I can use it. There is too much junk on my floor to just turn it loose in most of my rooms. Maybe someday I'll get around to picking everything up but I have cages to clean first.
